How the fuck was I hacked.

Hell, I bet you get loads of these threads but I have a quick question. How the fuck was I hacked. Don't worry I got the account back but I still have no idea how it happened. No I didn't download any programs other than Nexus and RSBuddy no Powerbot or Epicbot, no Private Servers, nothing to that extent. The account that was taken was bought from Sythe however after getting hacked the person I bought it from helped me recover it. I would rather not have this happen again. Any ideas how this happened?

So that they can get the GP from your account, if there was.

 

So he re took the account brought it to edge bank than gave it back to me.. lolwut?

 

Maybe to make you think he was more trustworthy, to check his recoveries and stuff still worked on it, then wait til you work hard on it, then take it back.

The only person that can be suspected here is the seller. He probably recovered the account to see if you had any valuables in which he can steal. He would then recover the account for you with the excuse of you got phished, etc.

Did you have any bank pin set? If not, did you have any valuables?

 

Who knows, I'll keep my watch up. One of the many problems of buying accounts :/

I only have 1.5m and 200k dung tokens so not to much.

Any tips on how I should keep it in my possession?

 

A. The guy who sold you the account recovered it, saw it had nothing, helped you recover it.
B. The original or a previous owner recovered the account and the guy who sold you the account helped you get it back.

 

I had the same problem earlier. I thought the seller that sold me an account recovered it and took gp from it. However later found out that it was an original owner way before him that took it. So ask him if he is the original owner of that account or if he bought it from someone else. Did you get the last login info?

 

Yeah I have all of that stuff and the MM we used did a recovery test so it should work. When It got hacked and before I contacted seller I tried to recover it but It got denied mainly because I forgot the email I set it with. I have that now. I'll ask the seller next time I see him if hes original owner.

 

Epicbot is a keylogger, I know for a fact, me and my friend got hacked, and if I didn't have a bank pin I woulda gotten 200m stolen. :/

 

This. He probably wanted to see how much your bank was worth or to get ur GEEPEE's!

 

Either the seller recovered it or you have a keylogger you were/are unaware of.

 

I heard about this a lot, apparently Epicbot is actually suspected a lot for keylogging. No clue if any of it's true, though. So if I were you, I'd go check out Epicbot.

 

The person you bought the account recovered it, checked if it had any items worth taking, and logged off because there wasn't anything worthwhile to take. He then helped you recover the account because he didn't want to look guilty, and wanted to avoid a possible ban.

You better of learned something from this; you're account isn't safe, so make a level 3 banker.

Well there was no bank on it. You think he will do this again?

 

Either rsbuddy hacked you or your seller recovered. Before anybody shoots downt he rsbuddy idea down, i've had a few acc's with only a trace from them get hacked.

 

Thats the problem with buying account from people that aren't trustworthy or original owner of the account.
