    This Computer Anything Good?

Hey. With Christmas coming around, i'm in desperate need of my own computer.

They have this one on special.

    The Specs:
    Acer Emachine Desktop PC
    AMD Athlon 2850e 1.6ghz CPU
    1GB RAM
    160GB HDD
    Win XP Home

I know the specs aren't really good, i will make it up to 2gb of ram.

The CPU isn't that great, i know.

I just need to know, can i play RuneScape and possibly WoW on it (LOW Graphics is fine).

Whats the price of that? Becuase in most cases you can build a better computer for the same price.

If you are going to be getting a computer. Built/buy one that lasts and not replace this (junk) in a few years.

I don't think the specs are very good, I'd say you need at least 2GB RAM as well as a decent graphics card to play wow at around 40fps low-settings.

Nowadays, with barebone packs, mail in rebates, and other sales, you could probably get away with a great computer for 800 dollars. If you're not one of those people who are into brand-hype and looks, purchase a simple aluminum (it's less noisy) case and if need be, drill your own side mounts for fans. This shouldn't cost you much.

A normal barebone kit will cost around 200$ and normally includes a CPU, motherboard, and power supply. Memory and hard drives are at an all time low, and their prices continue to fall.

Obviously other parts and accessories will vary greatly. If you're a big gamer, processing speed, RAM, and your video card will be factors you want to consider.

It all depends on your maximum budget, and whether or not you're patient enough to buy parts one little bit at a time as they go on sale.
