Requiring ID when purchasing gold

Since when did this become a thing? Does anyone not find it shady that some random ass company gets your personal information and on top of that gets a actual picture of your documentation?

This was never a thing back when I played RS in 05, came back recently and seen this is becoming standard practice.

Shits weird AF.

 

But it means its more secure, so they could pay by credit card or paypal and wouldn't dare to get the money back as they have all their details which potentially could do anything with...

 

It's an anti fraud procedure, they store the information in case anything comes up, they don't do anything else with it though

 

As the two above stated it’s standard procedure, too many people using frauds funds or charging back.

 

Yeah, I agree you might feel uncomfortable providing ID to people selling gold on a game. But, you can always use payments such as Bitcoin, ETH etc to avoid this.

 

so u cant refund your money via paypal or whatever method u used
