New Jagex anti Hijack is end of account buying and selling?

No people don't HAVE to use the anti thing, seeing as you will have to pay for it. (wrong forum?)

 

Ofc you don't HAVE to, but how would you know if a seller has one?

I think it'll stop some hackers/philshers and scammers, but definitely not account selling. If the seller has it, then they can just mail it to the buyer . Also, I'd bet that not even 5% of the RS community will get one.

 

U never know u can get those nerds that love scamming.

I doubt many would even buy this, unless they were planning on scamming:huh:

My dad has one of those for his Real Estate login, to prevent people from sharing their logins to check on house details, etc...

 

I personally think it'll for the most part stop account trading. Noone would trust each other enough to know if they're lying about having one.

I'm going to buy one for my personal account.

 

My advice is to buy an account ASAP and stick with it.

I'm sure that an account with an anti-hijack device will be easy to see, know why? Read the update post they made, they mentioned more bank space. I'm sure there'll be more tweaks to the status of the account, and we'd easily be able to see which account has it and which doesn't, just by a few simple screenshots of the bank and such, so don't start worrying about it before it has even happened.

 

So because Blizzard copied some other companies plan to prevent stealing / sharing of accounts before JaGeX, it means JaGeX can't do the same? Logic.


Looking from the other perspective of account trading; mailing the authenticator would be a much safer way of trading.

I think this is a good idea for the fact that if you buy a account on here with one you could put one on to prevent people from recovering your account but this can also be used for scamming but I'm new to sythe.org and I hope this community is pleasent place to trade.

 

Actually this could be a really good thing and a really bad thing for account selling, a really good thing in that after you buy an account that doesnt have one of these things on it, the account is basically yours forever and couldnt be recovered, the bad thing is that if you buy an account with one of these things your screwed.

 

Heh won't stop account traders, only buy off trusted people and you have nothing to worry about
