They served baked beans on the set of The Biggest Loser.

On a more serious note, have they done any conclusive autopsies on the dead animals yet?

I thought they contained the oil spill when it happened. It would have been impossible for it to spread all over. They cleaned it up, fast, it's BP, they're HUGE.

The birds died because of a heart attack, something happened around them and it scared the heck out of them and they died I guess, Idr exactly, but look that up.

Your claming thousands of birds died due to heart attacks ?

    /facepalm

& There's still oil in the thousands of gallons around the ocean its near impossible to clean it all up due to the sheer amount that got leaked

I didn't know we were talking about TOTAL, I thought it was one particular siting.
I don't know about the oil spill. I've been without cable at my apartment for 2 weeks, so I have no idea.

It's nothing to do with radiation or magnetism, it's a simple fact of reporting.

It's hardly unknown for animals to die en-masse; whales and other cetaceans strand themselves, frogs march onto freeways and so on.

The first birds that died were from memory Arkansas, where the bird population density is extremely high, to the point where it's not unknown for a thousand birds to roost in a single tree. The specific species (red-winged blackbirds) are known for flocking in large numbers and have notoriously bad eyesight - and the mass-deaths occurred in midwinter when food is scarce. There really is no need to invoke radiation or anything else to explain an otherwise unusual but not unknown event.

What differentiates this story is that after the first mass-death occurred and caught the public interest, other incidents around the world that would not normally be notable were reported. Because of this, unconnected events suddenly appear to be related, when in fact there are simple explanations for the root cause of the deaths.
