Getting somebody elses food

It just happened to me and it reminded me of times in the past that I have experienced this. Today I went to go order a ribeye to go at the local steakhouse that I have recently been frequenting almost every other week on average getting only the same thing every time ,A Rare Rib-eye with Fries and salad bar to go, and the owner (one of the main cooks) and I are tight, and I also know the only other main cook that works there and they have made my order everytime and recently I havnt needed even talk before they started my order since I have always had that same thing every time I had every been there during the past 3 years.

Anyway I walk in, the owner is talking with some other customers and once he sees me he yells my order word for word as I typed it above Rare Ribeye, Fries with salad bar to go to the waitress lady behind the counter. He then tells them to tell the cook in the kitchen that I am here (Since they also know what I allways get to start it). She then rings me up I pay the bill and she gives me the box to fill up for the salad bar. I go fill it up and come back to see a bag full of take out boxes and they say alright its all done. This kind of weirds me out cause I was just about to ask them how long till I should come back to pick up the food since I had some other shit to do around town. I say this is a lot of boxes, and ask if its all for me. They say yes and I take it say my goodbyes and leave. I then do my shit around town and get home about 20 mins later. Once I get home I open the boxes to find that what I got was a ribeye some chili fries and mashed potatoes and the box of salad that I packed full.

I realize the people that probably ordered this food had already arrived and there new food had been started by the time I had gotten home and opened the boxes. I would have preffered the Ribeye anyday, but the prime rib was a nice change of pace.

Long story covering every detail sorry about that, Just wondering if this has ever happened to you or have you been the person to give out the wrong food cause that has happened to people I know and worked with before.

 

Yeah it happens quite a lot in food restaurants, especially if it's busy and everyone is stressed out.

One time I went to McDonalds, ordered a small fries, 6 nuggets and 1 cheeseburger.

Instead I was given (in a bag) 2 large fries, 1 quarter pounder cheeseburger, 20 nuggets and 1 hot chocolate... didn't open the bag till I was half way home.

I guess I did someone a favour by helping their diet.

How much do you pay for the food usually? It sounds superb

 

I usually pay about $15 for the ribeye, but this time around they charged me a little over $20. This threw me off guard and I asked them again how much before I paid and then gave them the money. I figured that they raised the prices because it had happened in the past and every other restaurant that had been in that location had failed over the past 10 years or so I thought they bumped the prices up to compensate for lack of customers. didnt realize why I paid more until I got home.

 

Lets face it the joy you receive from the random toy far succeeds the big mac meal.

Got someone elses food at panda express the other day, it was a much bigger order with a ton of shit so I was actually happy about it.

 

I like it when they give the wrong order. You sometimes get free food to compensate their mistake.

If they don't suggest free food, ask to speak to their manager and they will crack.

 

Once, I ordered like $20 worth of chicken and fries for my girlfriend and I. The delivery guy arrived and brought us a completely wrong order worth about $30. We complained and he returned to the restaurant and got our order and came back. He let us have the $30 order as compensation on the house, and all we did was pay our $20 chicken order. Was a great night and awesome week at work due to basically free lunches =p
