The Ultimate guide for using proxies in 2025 (OSRS Botting)

If you’re serious about OSRS botting, using a proxy isn’t optional — it’s essential.

Whether you're just running a couple of bots or managing a full goldfarm, proxies help keep your accounts safe by avoiding chain bans, IP flags, and tracking systems.

What is a Proxy (for OSRS)?
A proxy acts as a middleman between your computer and RuneScape servers. It masks your real IP and gives you a different one, making each account appear like it's coming from a separate device or location.

    ✅ Why Use a Proxy?

Avoid chain bans (Jagex links accounts by IP)

Run multiple bots safely without detection

    Mimic traffic from different cities/countries

    Bypass IP tracking and blacklists

Should You Bot Without a Proxy?
Sure, botting on your home IP is fine if you’re only running 1–2 accounts and using safe methods/scripts. But the moment you scale beyond that — even 3-4 accounts — you're at serious risk.

If one account gets banned, Jagex can and will flag the rest that share the same IP.

️ How To Set Up a Proxy:

    Buy proxies here (preferably residential).

    Open your bot client

Go to the proxy settings tab.

Add your proxy using this format:IP:pORT:USERNAME:pASSWORD

Assign proxies to accounts (1–3 per IP max).

Restart your client and you're good to go.

    Best Proxy Type for Botting?
    Residential proxies — 100%.
Datacenter proxies can work, but they’re much more likely to get flagged or blocked, especially in 2025. Residential IPs are more “human-like,” and Jagex has a harder time detecting them.

If you’re building a bot farm, muling, or suicide botting — don’t skip proxies. It’s the most basic layer of protection you can give your setup.

Hope this helps someone out there avoid getting chain banned
