7 - 8 Weeks to get fit - Need tips on diet and exercise

I've got time to get fit, and I'm willing to put every effort I have into doing so. The problem is that I'm limited to the things I know I should do...

I've been told it's 80% diet, 20% exercise for the perfect weight loss. So - to me, I'm clueless on what to eat, I don't eat a lot of fish, in fact I only like Tuna.

Exercising doing cardio isn't an option either really, I've got limited space in my household and visiting a gym is a pretty bad idea too, I'm wanting to get out more whilst losing weight.

I've thought of doing a daily 30 min jog/run for the entire 9 weeks alongside a healthy diet but then I recon that's just not enough to cut down the fat

So here's what I need help with -
    • A cheap healthy weekly diet, consisting of good foods I can eat so I can personalise it a little.
    • Good exercise methods for someone who's just starting out.

Any ideas to help me out? Thanks!

I have a gym membership, and I've lost a good amount of weight.
I'd say it's 50% diet and 50% work out, but people have different opinion.
You should be calorie conscious, and research a bit on what you should eat and what you should not eat.
Try to maintain a particular amount of calorie, say for example, try to limit your calories to 800 or lower, since minimum calories that a body need is 1500 ( for men ) and if you're eating less and working out at the same time, you're bound to lose weight.
And for exercises, cardio is good. 30 mins of it is good enough but if you want to do other exercises as well, try doing squats. Push up is good. Crunches is effective. You can check out youtube for more exercises too.
