The Sythe.org Book of Official Rules - under construction​

As soon as you create an account, you accept and agree to the rules below. You also accept that when rules are changed it instantly applies to you. If rules are broken, depending on how severe the situation is, 1 or more infractions will be given.

Infractions

• Users will be given infractions when rules are broken.
• A user who receives 5 infractions will receive a temporary 3 day ban
• A user who receives 7 infractions will receive a temporary 7 day ban.
• Infractions expire after 1 month.
• Users are permanently banned after multiple temporary bans when necessary.
  

Users can also be banned immediately for breaking the most serious rules. (Staff discretion will be used in cases of particularly bad behavior.




ALL FORUMS
-You may not use macro's to increase the amount of views on a page.
-The following is prohibited:
*harassing other members (malicious harassment of other members or intentional misleading of staff
*excessive cursing, insults, and/or derogatory comments towards another user
*posting referral links for sites, surveys, other games, etc.
*selling something that is already available free.

Vouching
All vouches you cite should link back to the original post where they were given. If they do not, you are liable to get banned for fake vouches.
-You may not vouch/receive a vouch for GFX. E.g, Selling advertisement space on your signature and vouching for this is prohibited.
-You may not create a vouch thread in any section but the Vouches Forum.
-In the Vouches Forum, you may not bump your thread.
-Receiving vouches from a person you know in real life is strictly prohibited.
-The "sale" or "trading" of vouches is strictly prohibited.
-You may not vouch yourself or create "fake" vouches.
-You may not ask for a vouch.
-You may NOT promise/require a vouch for any item or service. (This means posting on your thread "giving vouch out if you train my account", or anything similar to that matter.)

Spamming
You may not create spam posts in any forum except the spam forum itself.
Spamming is considered:
* Posting short, unhelpful comments (such as "cool", "nice acc," etc).
* Flooding a forum with replies for the sole purpose of increasing post count. This may also be a permanent forumban in certain forums, especially if deliberate.
* Posting comments with little to no relevance to the topic
* Incessantly bumping a topic to get it to the top of the forum. (Wait until the topic has died before bumping.)

General Guides
You may only post guides that you wrote.
500x500 is the largest non-detailed picture you may post. A moderator decides what is detailed/non-detailed.
You may not post guides on anything illegal.

Signature
Maximum of 350 pixels in height including all quotes/text/pictures in it and a maximum of 650 pixels in width with all text/quotes/pictures. If this offense is repeatedly broken, you will simply be banned from having a signature.

Avatar
Avatars have a maximum size of: 80x80 for users, 150x100 for staff and donators (width x height)

Videos

Reporting a Scammer
You must include sufficient evidence of having been scammed. Evidence includes pictures/videos of every step of the process.
If your report thread has been locked due to insufficient evidence, you may not post a new thread unless more evidence is given.

Donations

• Donations may not (currently) be made through paypal.
• We only accept (currently) Western Union and cash/money by Mail.
• The minimum donation amount for Western Union is $50.

-You may not sell accounts that have recurring membership on them.
-Sales should be placed in their respective forums. (I.e., do not sell a 120 main in Pures & Skillers: 3-59)

Selling Membership/Upgrade

-In the Spam Forum, mild flaming is permissive, provided it is not overly vulgar or directed towards a staff member

I think this is a great idea that way people cant say oh I didnt see the sticky saying this wasnt allowed.

Please tell people what you are doing/suggesting in the original post.

 

That excuse doesn't even work. It's their responsibility to read them.

I don't see how a Book of Rules is different from the rules currently in place.

No support (to whatever you're trying to accomplish).

 

This isnt going to change Anything

 

It means that users can refer to the big book of rules when they're not sure about something. It is evident that users want this as the "yes" vote in the poll outweighs the "no" vote by more than 2x.

~That is more of a simple user guide on how to respect Sythe. It does not include all the detailed bits.

For example, when you made it clear to me that unofficially verifying guides is not allowed.

It was not on the homepage rules at the time, nor was it anywhere else.

 

Just had a new thought: Perhaps these rules can be encoded into an Internet Relay Chat Bot in which will answer your questions based on statements in this big book of rules.

This. It's really unneeded and to be honest a waste of time. We have stickies so that we don't have to post the specifics like you are suggesting to add into one big rulebook.

 

I can only say the poll speaks for itself. If all the moderators truly feel that this will be useless, then I will stop now and you may lock the thread.

Rather then this book of rules lets start a new thread on how to combine and make the current stickies more effective.
