The universe is the totality of all existence. It's not a sphere floating in emptiness. If God exists, then he must exist inside the universe.

Nobody knows the answer to that, and I wish you'd stop asking that question to try to justify your beliefs. Consider: There is an infinite number of possible things that could have initiated the Big Bang. It could be an inherent inevitability, it could be the God of Abraham, or it could be the IPU. No one hypothesis has primacy over another just because we don't know which one is definitely true.

So your saying its impossible to believe anything exist outside of your known universe? that there are no other universes outside of ours, and anything outside of it is impossible to exist?

It couldn't have been an infinite number of things, infinancy is impossible.

But the Big Bang must of began, thus something must of initiated it. It had to have been something powerful, and to beleive it wasn't would just be illogical.

If we accept the definition that the universe is the totality of all existence, then we accept that it encompasses all that exists. So, if it exists, it must be within the universe.

I'm talking about infinite possibilities. For example, it is logically possible that the universe was created by two divine beings. It is also logically possible that it was created by three, and four, and so on.

I don't know what caused it. It could have been something that pushed the universe apart, or it could have been something else.

So before the big bang, where was the singularity? If it all expanded from the singularity, and the singularity must have been existant, it must have existed inside something, it could simply be a singularity with nothing, even the abscence of emptiness.

Yes, but you said "possible things' to believe that there are an infinante number of "things" is impossible.

or it could have been God.

I don't know where it was.

An infinite number of beings is logically possible.

If the universe was created, then that is one out of infinite options. What empirical evidence do you have that it was the Judeo-Christian God?

Ok, what if the universe is destroyed and a new one comes into existance every few trillion years?

My thought was that somewhere in the last universe, there was a huge black hole, bigger than any we have seen, formed from many black holes joining or some other event. This black hole absorbed almost all of the universe, and billions of tons of material was compressed into the 'singularity'. After a few more billion years, this black hole collapsed, and had a kind of supernova, sending out huge ammounts of dust, rock and other materials. Over billions of years they condensed to form elements, nebulae and lots of other parts of the universe. I thought of a black hole because that is the only thing we know of that can compress everything into one point for the 'big bang' to happen. The materials inside wouldn't have come from anywhere, so they could be from a past universe. I know, we haven't seen any black holes collapse or be destroyed with our own eyes, but stars have many stages in their lives with a black hole being one of them, and i heard somewhere that completely permenant existance was impossible.

Half of what i just wrote was probably incorrect, but i don't really care. I was bored.

An interesting theory, but people will still ask "where did the past universe come from, and so on."

Where it all began is still a mystery...

I believe in all the scientific facts, like evolution etc. I don't believe God created the world. But if spontaneous generation is impossible, and energy cannot come from nothing, I believe there must have been some form of divine intervention to start everything off.

The only this that bugs me about this topic is WHY !... Why are we here, are we here to serve a purpose ? Why is there a need for the Human Race, Animals of all kinds and the Galaxy even !

All I can say is that I hope scientists figure this out before my due time !

(soz for a bit off topic)

See the thing is Shredderbeam, you keep asking all these people who believe in God where the proof is, and you see in front of you almost everyday. I want to ask you a question, where is proof that God does not exist?

Dark matter; a quantum theory that links up to the dimensional pathways that carry energy. Dark matter is really a receptionist for the "Hans Gobon', which is responsible for the creation of matter. Scientists currently have machines built to try and exploit the architecture of dark matter, and see if they can find the hans gobon.
