Why do i have to wait 7 days to change my bankpin?

Well i forgot my bankpin and it says that I have to wait 7 days to get it back.
Wasn't it 3 days before?

 

To prevent people hacking the account and accessing the bank sooner.

This exactly. If someone were to steal your account and try to xfer / trick anything of value in your bank the 7-day pin removal would stop them, usually the owner of the account has plenty of time to recover the account before they have enough time to access the bank.

Alternatively, if you need to deposit things i do believe you can still use a safety deposit box, not 100% sure about that though.

 

I thought you were able to switch between a 3 and 7 day period if you talk to the banker? Haven't checked in a while but thats what it used to be.

It's a pretty good thing but still, let us say that you forgot your bankpin you should be able to do recovery test on bank pin. ( where they can check your IP to see if you're the owner of the account.
