The real dangers of somebody getting your IP

They can spam you with lies.
And you can laugh at them.

 

If someone fucks up your computer using your IP, just hire a hacker so he can fuck up the comper that did it. I'm not very good with computers lols

 

You can't basiclly do anything with an IP. You'll need alot more but if you have all of it, you can enter their private profile with all there information

 

IP addresses are almost useless. It can give a slight whereabouts of your location. So unless you pissed off someone with a big ass bomb, you're fine.
Yeah, there are a few other things you can do, but it all requires a bit more than an IP address.

 

The worst someone could do is try to find where you live, but they'd fail..

 

Therefore shouldnt programs not be able to show your IP to other users?

A majority of the people on the internet have no idea what to do with someones ip so don't even worry about it.

although one time when i was playing cs 1.6 the screen started flashing with text saying "hahahaha your getting hacked" and my dvd drive was opening and closing constantly lol i fucking quit that server and never came back

all u have to do is send someone a direct link though aim and when they click on it you have to do some other stuff, its kinda complicated to explain but really simple to do. so if someone sends u a randon direct link, dont click or they could have a posibility of getting ur ip address

Google /can/ be used to find sensitive information, through the use of google "dorks" but it's hardly likely that you'll ever find anything important just by lookup up an IP address on google.
