Little Paypal help

I just requested money from someone that is buying a laptop from me. Was wondering if they could chargeback if I sent it like this:

 

Any payment made through PayPal is susceptible to a chargeback, make sure you know who you're trading with and that they are trustworthy.

 

Yes, make sure you send with recorded delivery and make sure you get your tracking number to show PayPal. There is no way to stop a "Unauthorized" dispute so be careful of those. Also if your sending to a weird place around the world like Africa or something then it could be a scam.

I was sending it to Lagos, Nigeria from United States of America lol. You two have been a major help!

 

Nigeria?? That definitely sounds suspicious to me, given the amount of scams that occur in that country. I would advise NOT sending anything to them. It would much more safer and reliable to purchase a laptop from somewhere local to you, it may cost a bit more, but at least you know where the shop is and that you are buying and reviving it at exactly the same time.

 

Yea, I wouldn't send it to there if I was you it can be very risky. Nothing against people from there but there are many scams that occur when sending something to there.

Money requests are always under "Goods" or "Services" so don't worry it can't be chargedback.
Chargebacks are for 'Gift' payments or anything under the "Personal" tab when sending money.

The other party can only open a dispute, in which if you provide tracking number and any other sufficient proof of shipment then you should be fine.
PayPal will investigate if it is disputed.
They will get in touch with the Courier Company and check if the item is correct and if it's been shipped.

If the tracking information online is marked as "Delivered", then you will without a doubt win the dispute if one is opened.
If this is for a Sythe buyer then I wouldn't sell it. eBay is much safer.

 

Even if they get the item they can still call their credit card company to say they never authorized the trade, or they didn't get the item they wanted specifically, but they would have to send it back. If they don't send you the money as a personal payment, you have full buyer protection and paypal will fight for you if you get in a problem like that. However you may lose and get your paypal limited like a lot of people. Paypal is horrible to use, I'd suggest using western union.

 

It's been settled guys, I am not accepting Paypal. Staff please shut down this thread.
