It pretty much applies to all meat. The only limiting factor in the consumption of pork is that it's high cholesterol makes it unwise to eat too much of it.

Actually, drinking alcohol in moderation is perfectly harmless. It's when it's drunk to excess that it damages your liver.

    "Bad effects of pork consumption

Pig's bodies contain many toxins, worms and latent diseases. Although some of these infestations are harbored in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far more predisposed to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because pigs like to scavenge and will eat any kind of food, including dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta (including their own), garbage, and other pigs.

Influenza (flu) is one of the most famous illnesses which pigs share with humans. This illness is harbored in the lungs of pigs during the summer months and tends to affect pigs and humans in the cooler months. Sausage contains bits of pigs' lungs, so those who eat pork sausage tend to suffer more during epidemics of influenza. Pig meat contains excessive quantities of histamine and imidazole compounds, which can lead to itching and inflammation; growth hormone, which promotes inflammation and growth; sulphur-containing mesenchymal mucus, which leads to swelling and deposits of mucus in tendons and cartilage, resulting in arthritis, rheumatism, etc.

Sulfur helps cause firm human tendons and ligaments to be replaced by the pig's soft mesenchymal tissues, and degeneration of human cartilage. Eating pork can also lead to gallstones and obesity, probably due to its high cholesterol and saturated fat content. The pig is the main carrier of the taenia solium worm, which is found it its flesh. These tapeworms are found in human intestines with greater frequency in nations where pigs are eaten. This type of tapeworm can pass through the intestines and affect many other organs, and is incurable once it reaches beyond a certain stage. One in six people in the US and Canada has trichinosis from eating trichina worms which are found in pork. Many people have no symptoms to warn them of this, and when they do, they resemble symptoms of many other illnesses. These worms are not noticed during meat inspections, nor are they killed by salting or smoking. Few people cook the meat long enough to kill the trichinae. The rat (another scavenger) also harbors this disease. There are dozens of other worms, germs, diseases and bacteria which are commonly found in pigs, many of which are specific to the pig, or found in greater frequency in pigs[/quote]

You've showed me this all before, and I've refuted it before. I quote myself:

It tastes similar to human flesh? Human flesh, according to my readings, actually tastes slightly sweetish. Pork tastes nothing like this.

Yes, their organs are so similar to humans organs that their organs are often transplanted into humans. It is also true that pig insulin will suffice for humans. I fail to see how this makes them unclean.

You have proven nothing. You are using pseudo-science and false logic.

Why is it that in every post when you try refuting somebody's hard evidence, you add in a little irritable message at the end saying how "this is fake" or "this isnt logic" or even "you have proven nothing". As oppose to you, who never cited any sources, never provides proof, and simply refute arguments based on your personal thoughts.

By the way, before anything is transplanted into a body, it MUST be sterilized, just in case you didn't know that. So that point does not exist:
"Yes, their organs are so similar to humans organs that their organs are often transplanted into humans. It is also true that pig insulin will suffice for humans. I fail to see how this makes them unclean."

If something uses false logic, I point it out. I have provided sources, perhaps you should go back through this thread.

That would make sense to me. I can't really see any pig parts being put into a human fresh out of the pig.

You have not provided sufficient resources for your arguments.

Actually, not only does your username prove that you have no clue about how anything works in this world, but also what I have quoted above. As a matter of fact, your post inexplicably shows that you, indeed, have a lack of science and the Quran. Because if you knew anything about the Quran, or even READ some of the previous posts, then you would not have posted such an ignorant post and tried to disprove someone who knows what they're talking about using your own personal thoughts about God's existence.

    source:http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Academy/7368/science_religion.htm

"Bob: Previously, Man thought that the Earth was flat, until Sir Frances Drake in 1607 finally proved it to be spherical. Today, the term Geoid is used to describe this spherical shape.

Yunus: Amazingly the Holy Quraan in chapter 31, verse 29 says, "Have you not seen how God merges the night into the day and merges the day into the night." The use of the word merges emphasizes a slow gradual change, and this is not possible if the earth is flat."

And the Quran was written 1400 years ago. The only way you can refute that is if you dare to contradict yourself and say that the earth isn't in reality spherical, and that it is in fact flat. But then you'd be arguing against the very basis of this Earth's shape, and fundamental principles of astronomy.

I rather think that a slow change could happen even if the earth was flat. Even so, that really does seem to be a bit of a stretch.

    And about my alcohol-related post?

I have read the whole Quran, and the Bible. In fact, those are the only books that I have read that were more than 500 pages.

    Interesting Post. Thanks.

I'm a Muslim, discovered this long ago. I've read the Bible, Torah and Quran, they all relate closely and all have the same facts. I feel all 3 religions are correct. However I feel that Islam has been taken a bit too far by extremists.

    The Quran and science

The statement: If you believe in science, then you believe in the Quran.

I believe in science, and I think the Quran is a collection of short stories written by Muhammad (spelling? bah).

In order to actually find modern science in the Quran, you need other sources. The Quran is not a revelation of all the science we need - the fact that a few verses here and there doesn't contradict science doesn't mean that I'll be throwing out my textbooks.

    The Quran and science

What I'm telling you, and I AM a Muslim, is that Islam does NOT contradict science, and that they run side by side, or moreover as one. In other religions such as christianity and judaism, they make contradict, as I am sure they do, but not in Islam.

Ok, I just finished reading that link of yours. The Quran does not need to provide endless details on how the earth spins, or how the big bang theory started. It simply states that the earth DOES in fact spin. We only figured that out a couple hundred hundred years ago; the Quran was written over 14 centuries ago. Do you understand what I'm saying here? No other 'holy book' has that in it. Just one of the ways to show that is isn't a book full of stories written by Prophet Mohammed. Considering pieces by pieces of it were REVEALED TO PROPHET MOHAMMED by Angel Gabriel. By the way, please don't become a provocative like shredderbeam is :p

Cause your statement: "I believe in science, and I think the Quran is a collection of short stories written by Muhammad (spelling? bah)." , intrinsically proves that you have not read ANY part of the Quran; but you may have heard false hearings about it from such debates. And am in no way arguing that the Quran gives you full detail on how the Earth spins on its imaginary axis, then it would become a science book. Although I would have to make sure that it in fact doesn't lol :)

    The Quran and science

Clearly you havent read either of them good enough. To understand the quran fully you will need to read it in its original language, since many words will be lost during the translation. The quran is filled with scientific facts and deatailed "stories", the Torah is not, and nor is the Bible.

Islam has not bin taken to far out by extremists. When thinking of islam you think of pakistan, saudi arabia and such countries when you should trully be thinking of the Ottoman empire instead.
Saudi Arabia, Iran, pakistan, sudan and such countries are not extremists, but editers, editing some parts of the shariah.

The only thing that is making you crazy is that muslims actully take their religion seriusly, and will protect it with their lives if necessary.
While christians are slowly letting go on their religion, muslims are not.
And that makes Islam the fastest growing religion in the world, and the biggest threat to atheists.

Clearly you are not muslim when daring to say such thing about your own peoples faith. I doubt that you even pray 5 times a day.
Your communism signature does no good either.

    The Quran and science

But you're still judging the Quran using modern science. The Quran on its own doesn't give any evidences for its claims.

It's fine to take two of them separately and make your own connections - but the Quran is not the basis for all modern science (In science, don't you assume that God isn't... there?).

I have read the Quran. However.

It is the skeptic's annotated Quran.
    http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/Quran/

I doubt they missed anything important. Although, it may turn out that there's a word in arabic that describes the entire concept of the universe and the meaning of life... that we lack in English. But aside from that, the translation issue isn't important.

But yet its claims turn out to be correct.
I dont think the western science has proven wether or not god exists.

Thousands of words are lost through the translation. Arabic and English are like blue whales and chickens. One word can change the entire chapter, so imagine what thousands of words can change.

    VERY VERY INTRESTING FACTS!
I take a strong back to those words described in that website...

ISLAM & CHRISTIANITY are almostttt.......... the same.

    *HINT*
ISLAM & CHRISTANITY are mostly the same, i have done a background serach on such things long time ago and still i join such facts and see if they really are the same and yet they are still true & same....
    - MUSLIMS BELIEVE ON JESUS....BUT AS A PROPHET
    - CHRISTIANS BELIEVE JESUS AS A GOD
you guy's see what i mean the beggining and some parts ( MOSTLY ) are the same but because of the recent changes in the holy bible, it disturbed such proofs, and still some great wise men still believe it.
Also they both are different holy books now because after on when christians accepted jesus as a god the whole religion certainly had to take different roads because in the the holy Quran it's different because of the ending.

I am really sorry, if i have spelled anything wrong.
