The Police

Many people seem to hate the police, even if they've never been in contact with the law at all. I believe that the police are a very important tool in maintaining a good society. Obviously police have made mistakes, but i think it's childish to blame one or two mistakes of individual police officers on all police officers as a whole and claim their evil. I think some police may make mistakes, but i think they are the first step in keeping a well maintained society.

 

I think cops are needed and should be respected but I think alot of cops abuse their power. Im not saying all do just some.

 

Pretty much sumed it up it would be terrible to live without the prottection of the law.

 

I want to be a policeman (taking public services at college). Although I do dislike the way they come over when we're in a group of us. They always think we're upto trouble. They see all teenagers in the same way.

 

Yes, obviously police are needed in a society.. but some of them tend to have power trips.

They think they can do what ever they want, when they want.. thinking they're SO much more important than EVERY OTHER human being JUST because they wear a badge.

Police are crucial in every day situations, and people overlook that. I know that I've encountered cops that sympathize fascists and protect them from the opposing force at rallies that go on in my town, i've come across cops that pick on teens and i've come across cops that smoke weed, so im not saying that cops as individuals are hearty, model citizens , but the idea of authority is obvious and undeniable, society can't run without it, or it wouldnt be society at all.

 

Police are nothing but PIGS, their either corrupt, or abuse their "power." Since they have a badge, they think their tough shit. I smoke weed and I've been searched by a cop, gotten it confiscated, and I didn't get in trouble cause he smoked it, and got some free weed. I'm not complaining about how I got off, but because if a cop does that, it's complete bullshit. And other cops think that cause they have a badge, they can tell people whatever the hell they want to do. It's pitiful, police are supposed to HELP.

 

I think its bullshit when people say they "hate" the police for many reasons.

1. They are most likely just doing it because their favorite rappers, celebs, etc.. do.

2. They have gotten in trouble with the law etc.. There is a simple solution to this, however! Don't break the FUCKING LAW YOU DIPSHIT.

Seriously, the people who "hate" the cops are usually the ones calling them to save their asses, and they still do it for you despite your attitude.

 

I liked the old band "The Police", and I like law enforcement, which is what the Police do. You should be able to figure it out why some people hate the Police from here.

We do need the police to uphold the law, but they don't have to be such arrogant pigs! Iv been booked twice and both times are in 50km/h zones. they sit at the bottom of hills so people that are just rolling end up doing 60km/h so they book them. its fucking disgusting, no ones life is in danger rolling at 60km/h.

also the cops charged me for negligant driving because I came off my motorbike on the road cos of potholes and broke my leg. im sitting there in hospital, on morphine and there fucking asking me questions. few weeks later i get a $300 fine in the mail. wheres the justice in that.

 

I argee but I think some are to strict, I don't "hate" them but I think they should be less strict. I know there doing their job, and I respect that.

 

Prediction: This thread will be filled with false stories.

 

Anyone who has ever broken a law will usually hate them. I get nervous when ever I am around one because they always give me a look like they know I have done something bad.

My story(Just for shakaka): Well I was walking down the street with a huge joint in my hands, I had my mac 10 at the side of my hip and a cop comes and tries to confiscate my stuff. I pull out mah mac 10 and blow him full of bullets. It was sick.

Anyways I don't really have any real stories. I do illegal stuff (steal,smoke weed,drink(I'm 13 so I guess that is illegal for me)) all the time I just never get caught. I got scared once because I was selling pirated serial keys on amazon and made $500 and someone reported me to amazon.. Got away with it and now going to buy some nice stuff.

 

I guess it's because of film and musicians. Alot of musicians sing about killing police and how the police are a bad thing, and their fans follow them to be more like them.
Films often demonise the police too, showing things like police violence, stupidness etc.
I think the police do get some things wrong, i don't agree with some of the stuff they do myself. I haven't been in any contact with the police, though i have done some pretty stupid stuff. I think they are needed, otherwise it would be complete anarchy.

Frankly, a lot of them are in for for the the badge. Anyone with any kind of power often changes.

BUT, a necessary evil.

 

People who claims to hate the police, are just making a futile attempt at looking super-rebellious. Mainly because they're dumbshits who listen to rap music and think they're hardcore 'gangsta', 'yo'.

Without the police, society would break chaos. People would be running around robbing, killing and raping because they know they'd get away with it.

I do agree that some cops are corrupted and deserves to get shot in the kneecaps. Fortunately, those morons are in the minors.

 

No offense guys, but a lot of you guys have no idea how crap works in the real world. I've been arrested... cops aren't cool guys. I wish they were but they aren't.

I was lied to multiple times when I was interrogated and they fucked me over pretty bad, and I've got more than a couple friends who have been fucked over by cops for things they didn't do. And for the record I have never been "helped" by a cop.

Where I'm from there are literally cops who have gotten away with murder, it's shit, they have way too much power and protection, and they abuse the hell out of it.

 

Of course we need cops to maintain a society but that dosen't make them nice guys, cops can be abusive bastards but they can also be just as nice as you and me.
