College Essay Topics

Hey guys, I have to write my Personal Essay for College Admissions, but I have no idea what to write mine about. Nothing really tragic happened in my life, so I can't right it about that.

What did you write your college essay about?

Any adventures, lasting memories, ideals that you want to tell the admissions people. When you write your essay its supposed to reflect yourself, any things that you talk about should be your beliefs.

 

Although a bit different here is an example of a paper i did for a scholarship.

Dear Scholarship Committee,

My name is Taylor Winter, and I will be a Junior for the 2011 fall semester. I have chosen to attend the University of Arkansas Fort Smith because of the excellent Nursing program there, and the fact that it’s in state. Due to budget restraints I am compelled to apply for financial need scholarships that I am applicable for. There are several reasons why I am a promising student that deserves these scholarships.

I understand that there are many qualified applicants, but what separates me from the rest are the qualities that I possess. I’m aware what it will take of me to reach my goal of becoming a Nurse anesthetist, and have already taken some steps to do so. For example I have applied myself to my studies in school, managing to accumulate a 3.83 GPA. Through hard work, my GPA has risen by nearly a full point since high school. When it comes to studies, determination and perseverance are needed if a student wants to become successful. I obtain both of these qualities. For example when Hurricane Katrina hit, more than 10,000 refugees were flooded into barracks at Fort Chafee. I volunteered through-out their stay there, and was once assigned to make roughly 5,000 bologna sandwiches with four other people. All though it took nearly all day, half of the community staying there had food to eat. I have very high expectations of myself, and I am determined to live up to them, just as I was determined to make those 5,000 sandwiches.



Basically you just want to make yourself standout and tell them why they should choose you.

Thanks, but I am looking for a Personal College Essay, where people talk about their experience and what they have learned from it. A lot of colleges nowadays need these to go along with College Apps.
