When babies die in a hospital

I wanted to know peoples opinions on this topic for quite a while, but couldn't bother posting a topic. So there were a few incidents which ended in a baby dieing after his birth in a hospital due to lack of doctors attention maybe?

Situation: A woman gives birth and the baby gets placed in a incubator, but the sheet is too hot and the baby dies from dehydration or something, after that the parents are furious about what happened and sue the doctors/nurses/hospitals for like $300,000. Is this right? I mean sure, they have lost their just born child, but why do they value their dead baby for money? Isn't a baby your creation which can't be valued for ANY cash?

 

Well its compensation, which is basically saying "we f****d up, but a little bit of cash should stop you from being to angry with us.

In reality no amount of cash can make up for the death of a loved one, but what can they do, it's not like they can bring them back(yet)

 

It's the least they can do, they do it so they can take their minds of losing a child.

Like in all situations when compensation is involved it's just basically to take your mind of what has happened.

 

It's compensation for having it growing inside of you for 9 months.
It's compensation for having something you plan to bring up into healthy human being, which will eventually live its own life ruined for you.
It's compensation for going through the pain of birth.
Etc.

Think of the amount of things these parents look forward to for the doctors / staff at the hospital to go fuck up by not checking temperatures etc.
I'd be pretty pissed too.

When love is involved, money is no aspect.

 

I'm sure it's to scare the doctors. So it won't happen again?

 

But it DOES happen again, there were a few incidents like this afterwards. But IMO this isn't right to use your now dead baby to gain wealth.

 

They're not trying to gain wealth. They're trying to hurt the hospital because it has hurt them. Although I'd sue for more, 600,000. at the least.

 

I don't think that death of babies due to lack of attention is too common to be honest..
There is that instant death thing but that isn't related to hospital care.

 

Are you just greedy, or is there a reason behind it?

 

If I lost a kid due to the hospitals neglect I would personally sue them for alot. Also I would make sure their reputation was ruined. This isn't being greedy it's just fighting back against a hospital that did you wrong.

 

Shit, i would just go into a business of this. You can always make another baby.

Someone should have been watching the baby, he was just born for gods sake.

 

Tj, one day if you ever have a kid and it dies you would sue the hospital. It wouldn't just be some baby anymore.

 

Personally, if one of my new born children died in hospital, I'd never think to sue the hospital. There would be nothing that could cover the cost of your own flesh and blood.

This is horrible.

 

A funeral, maybe

 

I've also heard some doctors secretley take the organs from them and use them for transplants without them knowing, they zip them up, and its virtually impossible to tell.

 

If i did, i would sue for enough to cover funeral expenses. There is no reason to sue for more than that.

Or the truth.

 

So, you are saying you wouldn't be bothered about your child dieing at birth, and you'd sue the hospital, and then be happy?

 

If its an honest mistake, why would i sue? Shit happens.
