Merchant ?

I have tried many times to understand the basics of how to merch but I never get the hang of it and end up losing out in the end.

Could someone please explain me the basics of how to do it, I would greatly appreciate it.

 

+1 don't really get it. I always buy an item that looks like it's rising, but I eend up losing money haha!

 

please be specific, as in flip merchanting or clan merchanting or something else?

 

don't buy something that's been rising for while as chances of it being dumped soon are high

don't sell for less than you bought it

simple rule: everything that goes up must come down and vise versa

yea clan merchanting is actually really stupid, here is the basis of it:
the clan is composed of several high members who have large amounts of cash. They in turn buy the items before released to the public, so they have a large share of item. They then release the item to the public, which practically causes a buyout and there is no more in ge. This causes the items to rise and rise. After a certain percentage, top members start dumping their share of item. Then they inform the public and they begin to dump. This causes the price of the item to crash. Even after the item has raised so high, the only way to get rid of it is through junk trading. If you are bad at junk trading don't merch in a clan. If you have several rares and can use them as the clan dumps, a merch clan is actually a good way to make money

Yeh i total agree with this.
Don't buy anything that is rising except if it just started rising from it all times lowest point.
Buying items at all time lowest +dropping is probably a good thing.

if you're new to merching, do flipping first, its basic thing buying stable items for ~3% lower price than its sellable. Group/clan merching is worth only if you're in good clan, thats like you buy out stock and wait till it goes up, then trade-off junk.

 

Personally, I've done everything in this category.

I flipped, did some light investing, invested with popular merch clans, invested with private merch clans, manips, done it all.

I'm currently trying solo buyouts right now. So far, I bought my first item out, but didn't quite do it right so I broke even.
Silver bars are currently what I've got, hoping a merch clan's gonna try to pick them up. Even if not, I'll make a nice profit.

Ok, I see now I will give it a try just have to find an item first.

 

Dont just study the 30 day chart.

Study the 180 day one, and see if it continuously rises and drops.
If it doesnt, its a big risk.

If it does, and is at a low point, it will most probably rise again.

But also consider recent updates to the game as well as possibly future ones.
They influence the market greatly.

 

Buy for lower sell for higher. Basic flipping merching.

 

honestly, i am in the same vote as you. people always say "flip" or "snipe" idk what the heck this is.. im used to old runescape. so if anyone could also PM me some tips on it it would be very helpful and i would be grateful.

sniping is when you try to get a rare out of ge that you normally can't, basically you put it in the offer as fast as you can as ge update
