question about recovering

hey, I recently over heard that you can easily recover an account that your e-mail address is linked too. Can any confirm if this is true or not?

 

It is possible, but I don't think it's a definite.
Perhaps if your email is your name, and you somehow prove you are that person, that might help.

 

It depends how long the email has been registered to the account
And how long you have ahd that account on your ip

Email has very little to do the recovery process. The main things they focus on are Ip, Isp, First Passwords,Membership info and join date. Knowing or not knowing the email will not decrease or increase your chances of recovering a account.

 

what classics said, but know the email does play a huge role, also the last membership info is a real biggy.

It's not a definite at all, it only helps if you have AT LEAST the creation details and membership information, otherwise it is completely worthless.

 

The two biggest factors are creation date/ISP/IP and/or submitting the report from that creation IP/ISP.

So basically unless you've moved overseas and had a severe bout of amnesia, you'll be able to recover any account you've created with just that info. Membership info is not mandatory, neither are recovs/email.
