Story/Picture/Gfx of the month?

Ladies and gentlemen.

Today the idea, even though it isn't a great one, popped up in my head to organisize a story, picture or gfx of the month contest.

The idea: The first 20 days of each month people have time to enter the contest. The remaining days people will vote, and the last day of the month the winner will be selected.

Story: You basically write anything. Fiction is allowed.

Picture: Speaks for itself, you post a picture YOU TOOK.

GFX: a certain theme (not a render) will be given, and apart from that you may freestyle.

Who likes this idea? And in which of these 3 categories would you participate?

I can give you a story right now that happened to me a few days ago lol.

 

I like the idea, but I probably wouldn't participate.

Story - Nothing extremely interesting has happened in my life, so I don't really have anything to write about.

Photography - Although this interests me, I have no idea where to start, nor the equipment for it, so that's a no go.

GFX - As much as I'd like to be, I've never been good at it.

As amateur at GFX as I am, I'd participate in said contest.
I'd also participate in a story contest, considering my English, I'd say, is moderately superior to a select group of members here at Sythe.​

Perhaps the story contest could be a fiction story writing contest. After all, people are just going to write fiction stories and claim that it happened to them anyway.

A topic or subject would be given, of which you would have to base your story around. As you said in the OP, a number of days will be given to submit your entries, the same goes for the voting.

This would also influence sythe members to read, which is always a good thing.

I think this idea has great potential.

I'd Do A Non-Fiction Story, Regarding My Life.

 

I'd participate in a story contest. But a photography contest? What do you mean by that? We take our cameras, go out and take pictures and the person who took the best picture wins?
I suppose the GFX contest is alright lol. Many people here seem to like GFX.

 

Yeah mate I support, make a thread for next July but make sure that no trolls are allowed.

Good ideas but I wouldn't be participating in any of them.

Story: I fail at this.
Picture: I'm buying a good cam soon, but I can't think of anything to
GFX: Again, I mega fail at this.

 

It's something I would organize myself so I don't think it belongs there. Thank you though.
