    Most people don't realize how worthless RS accounts are. They think "I have put thousands of hours into my account, and the skills alone would have cost $200 worth of gold, I'll ask for $500!"

    The main reason accounts are so low value is because they are so easily recovered. If this seller on craigslist was able to provide his address, phone number, and lived nearby, the buyer would be in a much better position than if he bought from some random person on Sythe. Considering the amount of time those 99's would take (1000+ hours), you're not getting ripped off at all by paying $499.
