As most of us know, the current forum filters are decent for blocking out website URLs but can easily be bypassed with simple alterations (See my signature for example.)

I say we implement a new rule against evading filters.

I don't think it's that serious that we stop people from saying *******. It's being used more to stop adbots from posting porn links.

Well bots won't try to get around them (They can't really change the URL of the videos they post) and Town stated it's mainly to stop them...So I think the current filters are fine

When the adbots post on Sythe, if they have a link with a censored word in it, then the link doesn't work. They don't care about bypassing filters; indeed, they won't even try to, seeing as they lack a mind.

This rule is primarily in place to prevent these adbots from successfully advertising here. If their links don't work, then we win (after a fashion).

I hate those ones that just post like a whole thread of pr0n, Hope the filters are made more stricter.

Yeah, I say we block out common words in porn sites and the such, the reason being most of those sites have names like 'XXXBRITNEYPUSSYSHOTS.org' so censor out things like 'xxx' and 'pussy'.

If the words censored the posts would still be there. I don't really see how it would help if a few of the lines said *** instead of xxx.

But Clashy-Poo does have a point. They could have put pictures from things like imageshack.

Well, imageshack along with the other hosts would eventually realize the porn they are hosting, and delete it. The bots wouldn't upload it again, and the creators would get sick of uploading the photos again and again, then repairing the bot scripts.

It really isn't going to hurt anybody but the bots, so why not?
