The Existence of God

No, if you kill 10 babies, there's something wrong with you, and then your going to jail, and these crosses are natural, you'd be making the cross, the crosses already exist.

 

Let me guess, you believe when you die your mind just wonders correct? What about a 2 day old baby? a 2 day old baby doesn't think. A 2 day old baby doesn't know what Heaven or Hell is. It doesn't know anything.

 

When you die, your mind doesn't wander. It just vanishes. That's all there is to it.

 

I was using the baby as an example this has nothing to do with babys. A cross in a blackhole means nothing. If you live life thinking that evey natural thing that looks like a cross or a bible or you are living a blinded life. Cells are made by people are they not? So explain to me how this natural.

 

I'm sticking with my beliefs but what do you think happens?
My beliefs are if you are a Chirstian, and love jesus with all your heart
and you live by the bible, you will make it to Heaven, if you say your a Chirstian
and smoke dope and drink alcohol your not going to heaven, you have a better
luck of going to Hell for eternity. Did you guys even give God a chance? Or are you afraid that your going to get showed up I'll be back in about an hour - 2 hours

 

You do not go to hell just for smoking dope and drinking alchohol. You
go to hell for being a bad person and doing bad things. So are you saying you can be the best person in the world and donate millions of dollars to aid foundations and cancer foundations but if you smoke and drink you are for sure going to hell theres no way out of it?

 

Why would I follow that ethical system? Why not follow the Greco-Roman system, which calls for animal sacrifice?

 

Shit I don't know lol.. Probably a NO, because I cannot out argue you because you OBVIOUSLY are a better Debater, but I still think Belief counts for something, I would feel too empty without a god in my life to be honest.

You're either right, or wrong. There is no mystical force that will save you if you have faith. You cannot bring God into being through such thoughts.

You mean you THINK there is a god. To know something as a fact you need evidence of its existance.

and to "skilling not killing" are you saying hot cross buns prove that god exists? you can find almost any shape if you look for it. iv seen heaps of pictures of trees and rocks that look like a penis. so does this mean god is a penis? no. it means nothing...

 

I'm leaning towards Agnosticism. I now do not believe in a Christan god, but I cannot totally ignore the possibility of intelligent design. Now my biggest problem is telling my family. They are very involved in their church and I'm not sure what they'll do when I tell them. Most likely make see a church counselor... haha.

you cant win a debate about god because you have nothing to back your claims with. Its exactly the same as trying to argue that santa exists, there is absolutely no evidence of its existance.

All i hear is "i just know" or "you just need faith". To believe in god is the same as believing in flying unicorns.

 

Intelligent Design is the biggest pile of crap ever. It's quite literally an argument from ignorance: "I do not know how this could evolved, therefore, it must have been designed". To fully demonstrate all the holes in this pseudoscience would take too long here, so I suggest that you pick up a copy of The God Delusion, by Richard Dawkins.

How do you know that? Is it just a gut feeling brought on by countless years of unquestioningly believing in God?

 

If I do believe and there isn't a god, nothing lost. If I don't believe and there is a god, I lose everything. I will take my chances believing, and I wouldn't even call myself religious, I don't really follow anything, I just believe there is a god.

 

What sort of nice guy god is to send you to hell for not believing in something that has no evidence of existance?

Your church will tell you that you will go to hell to make you believe, its called scare tactics. and besides, it wasnt god that ever said you would go to hell. infact god hasnt said anything.

That argument is called Pascal's Wager, and I'll tell you why it fails. You are assuming that the only two possible choices are that either there is no God, or that the particular God you happen to believe in exists. There are millions of other Gods that people have invented, how do you know that the one your parents raised you to believe in is the real one? Why not Zeus or the Flying Spaghetti Monster? Or what if the God that exists only sends the irrational people that believe in him to some sort of hell when they die? Sure, if there was only one possible God that could exist, and you if you knew for a fact what was required of you to fulfill its wishes for a nice afterlife it would be of sound judgment to go ahead and believe in it, but that is not the case.

 

No, there is no proof for the "Mormons" to be a real religion.. they are a BS religion, and I don't believe in it. I live in Utah (SADLY!) and have learned a lot. If there was a Mormon god, we would know. And some other religions make a lot of shit up. I am merely saying that I believe in the miracles that have happened, I am not saying I am scared of god, if anyone I am scared of it's school.. There are many signs, and I see them, you don't. That's my opinion, I will NEVER become an atheist.
