Well,my mum does, but i totally diagree.

 

WTF, why disagree with your mum she is like right, unless you can prove me wrong.

 

Yeah if your mum said it, it must be true, just like santa. You remind me of how kids think about there parents, always have all the answers... lol.

prove you wrong? Prove that his mum doesnt know how the world became to be? Im sure his mum was there billions of years ago...

I bet all the people who say "i love god" say it because they feel like god is watching them as they say it, and feel like there getting browny points from god. How can you love someone you don't know on any sort of level? Why love someone that has all this power, and yet lets poor children starve to death? Im not trying to be smart, I just want you to justify why you claim to love an imaginary man that has done nothing for you. If you became terminal ill, You would think a loved one would do anything to cure you right? God only needs to click his fingers to cure you, yet he wont, Therefor god doesnt love you.

 

By this very topic? I should have put the word "intelligent" before "Atheist". You'd have to be daft to accept such a lack of evidence from such a rational standpoint.

I saw a video on Youtube.. I forgot who made it, but it basically says this.

When you're a child, you have to listen to your parents, or you could get hurt. When they say "don't walk in the street or you'll get hurt", you don't because they said so. This is called a fact. However, being children, there's a fine line between fact and opinion, and some opinions leak into the facts. Maybe your dad says something about his job, maybe he's mad about having to stay in late. He says "My boss is working me to death!", or something along those lines. As a child, you would probably see that as a fact, because you can't distinguish between them.

As you grow, you see more and more that you have a different way of thinking. Do you always agree, 100% of the time, with your parents? No, unless you're a mindless drone. Your opinions may differ from your parents.

There are some people that see God as their parents opinion, rather than a fact like "don't walk in the street", because they don't see why there is one.

That's how some atheists are. Their opinion is that they don't see enough evidence for a God, so they disagree with their parents as to the existence of one. Just like you may disagree with them about anything else.

I don't follow the propaganda that is commonly spread around, I give my own views, so I don't really care for what other people have and haven't done in this field. To put it simply, this topic is quite the amusement to me.

What's not fair about me talking in the scope of this topic? If I wasn't, things would be all over the place.

 

Shawn Michaels was a wrestler who used "obscene" gestures and created un-Christian like skits. Basically the comparison was to show the difference in social-classes that are affected by Christianity, before you say who the fuck cares.

Emperor Constantine had a dream about a crucifix. He then proceeded to place that image on his shield, I think it was his shield. He then proceeded to survive a blow that SHOULD have killed him. The time he was baptized doesn't matter, Jesus was baptized as an adult.

Calling Christians idiots is not a fair argument.

Your argument is essentially "God exists unless he can be disproved". Sorry, but that's not the way things work. The burden of proof is actually upon you to demonstrate that he does exist - until then, nobody is obliged to take the belief seriously.

I don't believe in god. Religion is clearly just there to try and make peace into the world. I do believe that religion is needed.

I just hate Christians that go over the top with religion. -.-

 

The real question is, would you believe in god if nobody told you he existed?
Haha. Obviously not. So why should you just because people are telling you to believe in him.

In other words, would you believe in god if you were to only one in the entire world who still did? For most, the answer, although they will obviously not admit it now, is no.

Muslims continue to try to destroy Jews in Israel.
Radical Muslims hate U.S. Christians and an example of this is the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The Roman Catholics massacred anyone that wouldn't follow their ways.

Think of all the innocent lives that could have been saved if people weren't so caught up in these things that don't even exist.

Why do you believe in God?

 

Ok, when did I say that all muslims were terrorists? Never. I said, on occasion, RADICAL muslims, which I highly assume you are not, carry out acts of terror to achieve honor for killing non-believers of Allah. I NEVER ONCE SAID THAT ALL MUSLIMS ARE TERRORISTS, AND HOW DARE YOU ASSUME THAT.

 

I don't think there is a god. there is no proof and dont tell me a 2000 year old book is proof, or a 1300 year old book for you muslims out there =P.

God- A purely fictional character who spoke to some jewish guys, some christian guys, some muslim guys and who caused more people to die then anyone else in the world

 

God is merely a idea used to keep order in the world. He exists in the minds of people that have idea about the bible or even read pages from it they believe it because a lot of people do. from this thread i have converted from a christian to an atheist and i am proud of it I realize i believed in something that had no evidence to have ever exist. Why believe in something that has no trace of existence or even revealed himself to people that question whether he is real or not.

 

yeah i agree with deity its for people to have peace in there lifes and for there lifes to have a meaning

 

I don't think God is merely an idea used to keep order in the world. People believe in God because they actually think that it's true.

 

People WANT to believe in god because it gives a purpose to living and an explanation to why we are all here.
