The elder scrolls online drops its monthly subscription

What do you guys think of this? Personally I was excited for the game but after seeing some bad reviews I never gave it a shot. Might re-visit it next time the game goes on sale.

If you didn't play ESO before would you buy it now?

 

I got it for 20 bucks on steam sale before this, I'm happy .

Gonna have fun with it now. Probably not too much though, I just cant deal with the grind in games anymore (besides RS)

 

Waiting for it to come out for console.

 

June 9th is the date I heard for that.

 

I bought it when it came out and played for about a month, never got too deep into it. Without the monthly subscription, I wouldn't mind giving it another shot.

I do prefer subscription based gaming over microtransaction based, but that's just the way I was "raised" so to speak, on gaming.

I didn't know it went on sale recently Duke, upset that I missed it. I didn't even glance at the last round of steam sales because I didn't have anything to waste.

 

Yeah I was able to scoop it up for 20 dollars I believe, not too shabby.

 

I preordered like the $90 edition. Game was shit, dropped after two weeks.

Really disappointing, one of the most overhyped and shit games I've ever seen.

Seriously, I'd have more fun on just about any f2p mmo out there.

Even without the sub, it's still a bad game. There isn't any individualization, at all, quests are horridly repetitive and PvP is just a button mash.

 

Ehh, still I'd pick it up and play for a few hours if I can get it for $20 on sale.

I heard it didn't feel like an elder scrolls game, but some of it still looks cool. I didn't do much research, is it just a case of whored IP or did they actually make it themselves?

 

Wish I had known you were interested in it, would have gifted you one at 20 bucks. Let me know if it goes on sale again.

 

It's a copypaste mmo with some elder scrolls lore. I hate the success of Skyrim, I loved Morrowind, nobody played it. I loved Oblivion and nobody played it. Now they're releasing nonsense because Skyrim went huge, and the DLC is bollocks as well. I know I should support one of my favourite games in lore and gameplay, but shit.

 

Called this shit. I told everyone in the hype thread to wait 6 months and it will go free.

Blade, keep in mind that Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim weren't made by ZeniMax Online. They were made by their god creators and master mind Todd Howard and the team of Bethesda Softworks.

I pre-ordered ESO as well, and I completely agree with Blade, it was well over hyped by ZeniMax and they knew it was a cash cow from the get go. Hype it with "It's an Elder Scrolls game, but you can play with you friends now"... Bullshit. More like, we will milk these Elder Scrolls fans with an MMO that you can explore the entire of tamriel in.

The game is gorgeous, don't get me wrong. But completely same old shit from other MMOs. Quests are horribly go here, collect 10 of this and come back and claim your 10 fucking gold. I never got to try PvP because I ended up logging off and never going back. But the game is nothing more than milker.

If you're an Elder Scrolls fan, you will hate this. If you're a hardcore MMO grinder than you might dig this. But it was definately not worth $110 when I pre-ordered this in Australian Dollars lol.
