The art of scamming

Just got gged because of a very elaborate scam. I still think it seems fishy but what can i do you know. Heres how it went down xD.

So i messaged arbsales to sell ~150b ikov gold. I asked him to pm me on the forums since the skype name didnt add up. I received the pm from his account so i carried on. We decided to do the trade 75b at a time and send gp in two increments. I gave 75b and then he logged. I figured he dced and waited 2 more minutes.

So i re pm him on the forums telling him how im going to now lose my apartment as i got laid off and needed spare money to get me through the week and that i was uploading the scam video. The only thing that doesnt add up in my head is that when i was viewing the users profile to see PM him he was viewing the "Report a user" section.

And you continued...? Were you deliberately trying to get scammed? I can't tell.

This could've been a 2 way imposter scam that doesn't involve the person who sent you the pm, or the person who sent you the pm trying to imposter himself.

File a report asking a staff member to resolve the ip address of the skype profile you traded with to see if it matches a sythe profile.

I hope you still plan on reporting him lol, if he's the one who scammed you he'll be banned and he won't be allowed to request a pardon without repaying you.

Lesson learned: next time make sure the information in the PM adds up.
