There are already free to play worlds on osrs, you just have to pay to play on them. Kappa

The quasi-free to play worlds out right now blow. You still need a member.

I'm interested to see, if F2P is implemented, how 07 and EoC stack up. I know a ton of people that would get into 07 but just couldn't justify shelling out cash just to play that version of the game. 07 is already pretty comparable to EoC numbers wise. How embarrassing would that be if 07 surpassed it or got close?

 

The player base has been dwindling lately, but I think this update has the ability to double it easily.

 

The growth will be so insignificant that they might remove f2p lol. Graphics means everything in 2k14.

 

I wish there was a better barometer for checking who is on 07 and who is on EoC. Main RS page says 40k players online 07 says 10k. I believe they combine the two numbers meaning 30k players on EoC, but I guarantee if I go add up the worlds it will not be anywhere near 30k players on EoC.

Edit: Looking at it from a quick glance, it does look like it'd be close to that number. Interesting. EoC must be getting a little bit healthier. I'm not against either version of the game, so I hope F2P helps 07.

 

I pray the value of Saradomin, Zamorak and Guthix Trimmed rune armours will finally take flight!! They are so rare within clue scrolls it's a crying shame they peak at 200k for a sara plate…

Botting has gone down a tremendous amount.

 

Well at least it makes it easier to bot.

 

Gonna bot like fuck when this comes out. Why not.

 

Yeah and I still have a botted account with 90 Woodcutting with no blackmarks on OSRS so yeah I hope I can bot up to 99 without getting caught for botting

 

On the Jagex livestream. I'm glad they are banning bots and scammers.

 

Any scams in particular they are targeting? I just recently came back to Old School so I wouldn't know.

 

F2p is incredibly overhyped. No one plays F2p, it's just a trial version of the game.

 

I agree with Xier0, however the aspect of f2p gives the new user who hasn't experienced old runescape for whatever reason, the time to try it. Yeah they can't do much or explore much but it'll give them a better grasp on how 2007 was and always will be better then eoc (just my opinion).

 

I still enjoyed poking f2p style and sometimes having a mill or more in my inventory. The rune scim 2h ko's are awesome, even maple shortbow>2h
