When people post a thread, buying an account, I believe it should be a requirement for anyone who posts on the thread with an account to sell, to post pictures of said account..

I mean, when they create their own thread, they have to supply pictures? Yet if they post on someones thread whom is looking to buy, they can get away with "i have an account, add my skype "insertskypehere" ".

Correct me if anything I said may be wrong, but that is my input.

No support. They can link to their thread or show them via skype or anything. This suggestion is pointless.

So... what's the difference? Required to post pictures when making your own thread, but not when posting on someone elses? makes no sense... Great, if they have a link to their own thread then that would be classified as posting pictures?

If pictures are required to post your own topic, then I don't see why they shouldn't be when posting on someone elses thread.

i agree with sellerman, kind of pointless the buyer would want to see the account first anyway.

You could say the same for the rule, in which states pictures are required when making a thread, advertising your account for sale?

I support to an extent: If the seller is linking a thread, where you can see actual pictures of the account, that that should be good to go.

That's right, if someone legitimately has an account to sell, they will post pictures of said account. There's no real difference on creating a thread and having pictures to posting on someone's thread with an account; yet they don't have to post pictures.

i don't see why not requiring pictures or a link to a thread.

if someone is truly trying to sell their account they would have a thread created, would cut back on the fuck ton of spammers, and help avoid scams a little.

Like everybody above, it is kinda pointless as if making a law requiring everyone to wash their hands when leaving the bathroom.

I support, people should have to provide the pictures if they have the account may cut back on some scams of people just trying to claim they have an account and don't.

I don't think it's necessary, some people might not feel comfortable posting pictures of their account for everyone to see.

Edit: Only a fool would buy an account without seeing proof/pictures first, but I don't see why it's necessary to show pictures to everyone (if the seller wants to keep it private).

i support... although... i'm not sure whether people would follow the rule? like other rules... such as required pictures for threads + 8 hour between bumping.

i'm not sure whether they chose to ignore it or genuinely don't know about it.

(i know that if you report it, eventually a mod will get 'round to infracting or warning them, but wouldn't it create more work for mods too having another rule?)

No one wants to create like some huge post with pictures on so many threads. but yeah i do agree with you for sure. Sythe's entire account buying service is like fraud tho you can't find a post of someone selling an account by someone with over 50 posts and more then 1 vouch. Everyone selling accounts here is just looking to make a quick buck.

Has always been a common-sense rule, who in their right mind would buy an account without any pictures/proof of its existence or stats?

I do not support, it'll turn into more of an issue than it presently is.

Well, if nobody supports then we should remove the rule where pictures are required when creating your own for sale thread, it's the same scenario.. Yet when posting on a thread, bob doesn't have to post pictures? Logic?

I'm gonna say no support. It's a logical suggestion, but we'd have to start requiring pictures for runescape items and non-virtual goods too. It would result in unnecessarily large posts.

I'd say the difference between requiring pictures for a thread versus a post is that a thread reaches out to potentially hundreds of customers, whereas a post in a buying thread reaches out to just one. It makes sense to have rules to protect the potential hundreds of customers but requiring the same rule regarding a sole potential buyer really isn't necessary

These unnecessarily large posts, can include direct links to images, instead of embedding them into the post it self.. With implementation of this ruling, the amount of spam will be in heavy decline..

You see it all the time, people posting "add me on skype, I have an account", without posting skype details, with no detailed information about the account. It's just an excuse to raise that post count.

That's not necessarily true, how many people do you think view the thread? hundreds, so techincally, that post would reach hundreds of potential buyers. Hypothetically speaking, someone posts a thread; "Buying 07 pure", everyone who is also potentially looking to buy an 07 pure, is going to view this thread, because someone might post an account that catches their eye? It's only logical to have the rule implemented everywhere, not just when someone is creating their own thread.

    I appreciate your input.

EDIT: Correct me if I'm wrong, but pictures are already required for item sales, and non-virtual?
