Do I Have A Sleeping Disorder?

Hey,

This is really rare except it's happened about 5 times this year. I've woken up screaming, punching, and kicking, in like heaps of fear. Like i'm not angry or anything when i'm waking up screaming, i'm like petrified. And i just punch and kick but i don't know why.

A couple times it's happened while people have been in my room and luckily i've never hurt any of them. But after a recent incident i'm really worried that next time, i might accidently punch someone.

I have no idea what is happening when i wake up screaming. I remember nothing, and in incidents when people have been in my room, they will yell stuff like "it's me, calm down, it's just me" but nothing registers until they say there name. Sometimes i yell stuff like "where am i?" or "who are you?" in between screaming. But yeah, that's it.

Any ideas on what the fuck is wrong with me?

 

Nahh, I don't believe so. It happens to me at sometimes, its just a nightmare.

 

Your mind does weird things when it's not awake or asleep. I don't think you do.
Do I? It's 11:40 and I gotta get up at 6:55.

Err, I wouldn't worry if it doesn't happen frequently though.


I finally got to sleep at 1am.
I'm surprisingly not tired though.

 

Ask your doctor instead of 12 year olds.

 

Haha sometimes I don't fall asleep until 12:30 or so and I wake up at 5am for school.

It sucks, real bad.

 

Could possibly sleep paralysis. Its a horrific experience that you don't always remember, and often you can wake up freaking out from it.

 

You should really see a doctor, if it causes too much stress while you're asleep it can cause serious damages to your body and possibly death.

 

rofl, it isn't gonna cause death!! it's called night terrors. they happen. id lay off scary movies and caffeine.

 

Hahaha its like a freakout if its happening often I would set a video camera and send it to those Tv shows that pay for funny videos.

Anyways I think you might be traumatised maybe something impacted your life recently or your scared about a upcoming event.

 

Try getting more sleep, and lay off caffeine and high sugar products (coffee, coke, cookies etc). If you still experience that sort of stuff then go see your doctor

 

If it is nightmare related, then he could be having panic attacks in his sleep. Which can lead to a heart attack and those can commonly cause death. It really just depends on how severe he is when he's asleep.

 

Nahh, thats not Sleep Paralysis, Sleep Paralysis is when you wake up and can't move at all. You remember it though, you might wake up and freak out afterwards but this guy is talking about just waking up and swinging his fists and shit.

Seems like the problem could be that you don't sleep enough. Another suggestion on Wikipedia is to see when it typically happens and make sure to wake up before that.

i had this as a toddler.

you are most likely having night terrors. it's nothing to get all worked up over.

eventually, you will out grow them, just like wetting the bed.

They're definitely night terrors. I don't really see how it could be anything else and I spent a whole semester studying mental disorders.

 

What's your daily habits.. Do you drink coffee? Eat late at night? List some, maybe i can help.

Hmm night terrors sounds like it could be it. When someones in my room i generally remember it the next day, but otherwise i don't recall screaming at all, i'll just wake up in the morning and my mum will be like "you were screaming again last night".

I don't always get the required amount of sleep, and i often drink redbull/rockstar/mother to substitute not having slept much.

 

similar thing happend to me before , like when im bout to fall asleep i shake myself awake and kick , it happens to me quite alot ... idk what but i think its an evil spirit .

 

Well there's your problem.
8-10 hours of sleep and no energy drinks.
