Sticky In Feedback Forum

The feedback forum constantly receives new topics that shouldn't be there; over 1/2 the topics there now have been closed as they are in the wrong place.

I suggest a moderator adds a sticky saying "This Forum is for Site and Staff Feedback Only!", with the content inside explaining that it is not for individual non-staff or trade feedback and that people who post those threads will be infracted.

Just a small suggestion aimed at cleaning up the forums.

 

Sounds good, this will prevent all those posts that dont belong there... Good suggestion mate

 

Will reduce all the useless posts/spam. Will support for anything if it will help out the forums.

 

In my experience, nobody reads stickies nor official announcements. No matter what you do which is not technical (like adding some plugin to stop spam), spam will be seen all around the forum whether you like it or not.

Adding a sticky is just a way of saying: "Haha, we warned you!". If it is as you say, 1/2 of the threads not belonging to this forum, they should just enable the "put thread in moderation" which means that a mod must manually accept a thread in order for the thread to be seen. Otherwise, this will be pretty much useless spam-wise. (Ban-wise it won't as you'll obviously see more members banned...)

 

Unfortunately, the users who post topics in the incorrect sections, are also the same users who refuse to read stickies. Posting a sticky won't help with this issue. Just report the posts as you find them and they'll be dealt with swiftly. I personally check the feedback/suggestion sections many times throughout the day, just for this exact reason. These threads never last long.
