Remove 20 seconds before searching

I think that stopping people from searching for 20 seconds is way too time-consuming, and useless. I don't know what that 20 second does, but in my opinion, it is useless. No one benefits from it, and it is just annoying.

 

I would have to agree, when trying to look at your recent posts / threads to see if anyone has replied it get's very annoying having to wait.

I don't think there is any way to abuse the searching engine, and if there is lower it to 5 seconds.

 

I believe it stops people from spam-searching (abuse), decreasing the load on sythe.org's servers. That's why the memberlist was disabled.

 

It's to avoid misuse and attacks, and it's only a third of a minute.

Yeah, only a third of a minute, but you do it multiple times a day. It only delays you in something you want to do.

 

It used to be 60 seconds. If the wait is disabled completely, people can easily crash the site by spamming bogus searches.

 

It should at least be halved in my opinion.

 

It was already cut by 2/3. Twenty seconds is really nothing, tbh.

Back in my day, we had to wait 20 minutes just to find out if it was raining outside or not, these youngsters with their tvs and their microwaves don't have to wait for anything anymore.

No seriously, 20 seconds is too long? There are 3-year olds who are more patient than that, you can wait

 

It's annoying when you're searching for things. I don't know why you would be against lowering it a bit more...

 

It is because the more you lower it, the greater the chance it can be used to crash Sythe. If you cut it by half, you need half the number of computers to crash it and since it has already been cut by great deals, people should just live with it and be thankful it is no longer a minute since when you mistyped something back then, it was a pain in the ass.

 

Good gracious no, why do you think a limit is there in the first place? If there was no limit then the site could easily overloaded and crashed by constant search bots. 20 seconds is nothing anyway. No support.

 

I would rather have to wait 20 seconds then to have the site be able to crash easily.
