Sythe Wheel of Fortune

Sounds like this idea holds a lot of potential, support. Obviously, prices, rules and guidelines might need some refinement but it would be quite nice to see such project become a thing.

 

Sounds like one of the better sythe golf suggestions I’ve heard so far.

 

This is one of the best suggestions yet, and it's so simple to implement. Please don't pay attention to any crybabies who would rather the forum dwindle into nonexistence than their precious miniranks depreciating in value if the above rewards stay consistent. This idea would actually promote forum activity and finally give use to Sythe gold which is a commodity on this forum that's effectively worthless yet is still given out as prizes for events as if it would encourage people to participate.

@Sythe All this would need is your approval and nothing more. The rest could be handled at a lower level. Wouldn’t start this immediately as more input/changes would need to be hashed out.

 

This is a pretty good idea tbh and I support this. I think some rewards can be changed like the fun rank.

If you can spin several times per day then the rewards should be of lower quality and harder to win. If you can spin once a day then having better quality rewards makes sense.

I diced my SG because like who cares??? and lost it to the scumbag @Dunworry but if something like this was implemented, I would have never diced that pathetic fish monger @Dunworry my valuable SG.

 

This is a cool way of giving the gamblers of Sythe a chance to utilize their Sythe gold, which has been a long time coming.

Gonna show my support, but hopefully some better prizes can be thought up. Not sure I agree with the funrank giveaway, because of what @Void said.

 

I don't support funrank being a prize, atleast not for that low, maybe like 10-15k sythe gold with the other variable you had in mind. Everything else looks promising.

 

Support. Would be a great way to use Sythe gold and finally get those poke miniranks out there on the market.

Might be reaching with this but maybe we could even have a cash prize somewhere in there. I think this would give those who could careless about miniranks a chance to want to play.

 

Easy enough.

There are 4 prizes that gives SG directly (expected to be reused again to play the wheel). The highest prize of 500 SG (could change) is good for 2 extra spins

If we calculate just alone the possibility of landing on 4 of 25 brackets, you’d have a 16% chance of getting gold in return. There is only one bracket in which you’d gain more than you put in to spin, and that’d be B21, and you have a 4% chance to land on that (not counting the possibility of landing on a respin to which the possibility is increased slightly). This means the chance in which you wouldn’t gain more than you put in is at 88% (also accounting for respin potential).

Other rewards could indirectly lead to gaining more SG through trades, but the formula still stands that you’re expected to lose more so than win. To control volume, spins would be limited to once per day.

Tl;dr: Output potential of SG through this is slim, and even though you would be able to gain SG indirectly, this doesn’t mean “new” SG would be introduced, but rather circulated more in trades.

 

B5 & B14 have been edited to reflect being able to spin once per day. This should also help control the volume of participants and rewards handed out.

Consumable miniranks -->
Ban someone from the spam forum for a couple hours.
Change their avatar/username/ut/signature/etc. within the SF and DL for a certain time.
50% bump time reduction for 1 day.
Extra name change, or free name change.

Complimentary blowjob/HIV testing from Bus.
separate 50/50 doubling game vs. other Sythe members (house takes x% winnings)
$1, 5, and $10 donation credits (uncommon, rare, very rare)
A very rare wheel-specific fun rank would serve as a great sink

Seasonal prizeboxes (Christmas box which has an x% chance of a limited edition seasonal prize.) It doesn't have to be rare, because 90% of the prizes could be small amounts of Sythe gold. I like the idea of prizebox fragments as a junk prize, where you could combine Sythe gold and a bunch of fragments for a regular prizebox.

A loot system where you open 2-4 prizes. Most of them will be [12 Sythe Gold], [ prizebox fragment], [other worthless stuff] where one of the options has a normal chance of the regular wheel spins and the others have a low chance of being a non-garbage prize. This could also exist as a bonus round where you're able to open a few prizes at once. (These kind of things play onto gambling psychology)

Obviously not all of these are great/implementable ideas. Just getting the ball rolling. Perks like these are guaranteed to be gold sinks rather than hoping you don't end up generating more with Sythe gold prizes.

 

Test

100 dice rolls. Only twice does it roll on 21 (1000 SG gain). If you match the results to the corresponding brackets, there is a lot more loss than actually winning. I’ve changed some rewards as well for balancing purposes. The table you ask for, I wouldn’t know how to make considering you can’t put a number on something with no value (e.g null & randomized rewards).

 

I like the idea of prizebox fragments. The other ideas you mentioned would be either hard to do manually or too much of a bother (annoyance, e.g. banning someone for an hour or do). Making this user friendly as possible should be the goal.

How many fragments would = a prizebox?

Since this would be done manually, temporary ranks would be annoying to give/take away and there will be inconsistencies in that. I like the idea of gifting your reward to someone else. RSPS related stuff would need to be hashed through the CDT after it’s fully released.

Good idea @Wonderland, we need a proven gold sink here one way or another so if the values can be calculated to prove it’s a gold sink, sure.

All of this except maybe the first two would be pretty easy to implement actually. Most of the entire suggestion could be easily automated as well. There's no point in making this manually administrated as you keep suggesting. The OP suggestion (especially the prize structure.) as it stands is pretty lame and unnecessarily complicated. Scrap the wheel and go with a lootbox with prizes that have drop rates.

I would go with like 5 or 10 would work for the fragment idea. But 50-100 would also be cool under an automated system.

 

Price would be to high to spin it, how would you actually obtain enough sythe gold to spin it (atleast a few times)
