It doesn't have to be official, Resident pays for the Irc, you could pay for this?

 

Eh.. I've been known for not being very efficient in taking care of stuff.

Not to mention, I can't really afford it..

 

You cannot afford 75 cents a week... You have to be kidding. Also what makes this an "Official" request ?

 

Nothing really, official request isn't even grammatically correct lol.

However, I could pay for it, theoretically. but without a credit card or debit care, I can't really pay for an online service.

I will talk o my brother and see if he will pay and I can pay him, but no promises.

If that works, I will start it up.

 

$3? what kind of server is it going to be? where wil it be hosted? how many people are allowed on at a time? $3 for a 10 person vent i think the price is....
and btw if you guys do not know what ventrilo is www.ventrilo.com

its a program that hosts servers and lets you use microphone to speak to people

 

I would think anybody posting her knows what vent is.

And a vent server for 15 people at a time is $3.28 a month.

Most likely would get the 35 at $5.99 a month, though.

 

Well, the IRC isn't "official", I don't think.

I wouldn't have a problem hosting one, provided that we could have a "donations" sticky in Community General. If it were to be partly paid for by the users, then I would be just fine with it.

 

Hmm.. I could probably pay $2-5 a month, provided I have it in my paypal.

I have about $10 in there at the moment if that can get it started, I will gladly give it to whoever wants to host it.

 

I rather speak to people via text. Voice is just too much of a pain in the arse... But each to their own

 

I just like voice because I can chat without having an annoying box over what I am doing.. Not to mention, its more personal when you are actually talking to a person rather than typing.

 

Haha, does everyone have microphones then? I can pay for a 30 slot ventrilo for 6 months. I'll sort it out with-in the next few days, then im'a post the details.

a vent for everyone to use and only 1 person has to pay for it and his volunteering?..

in my opinion why wouldnt that be ok?

i think voice is so much better. its so much more funnier.
and you don't have to type long words.
and my guild wars guild does regular prank calls using Skype+ vent
its hillarious

Skype is ok, but its more costly i believe..
