Sythe Scavenger Hunt! [A Community Development Team Event]

With one week until Christmas, what better way to celebrate the festive month than with a
Competition Winner rank or a stack of 25M RuneScape gold?

Consider yourself a veteran? Or perhaps you're a sythe-wise newcomer?
Either way we've got the competition for you!

The Community Development Team proudly present the first of it's kind...

The Sythe Scavenger Hunt


Sounds cool, but what is it?
The Sythe Scavenger Hunt is a clue-by-clue hunt through some of Sythe's oldest and most famous threads.
You can opt for the harder, veteran hunt or the slightly easier, newcomer friendly hunt. ​

What's in it for me?​

It's the taking part that counts, right? But since it's Christmas,
we've got some neat prizes lined up for the lucky, scavenger champion.
The winner of the harder, veteran hunt will land themselves a shiny, new Competition Winner rank.

The winner of the slightly easier, newcomer hunt will win a stocking filling 25 MILLION RSGP.

What's to stop people cheating?
We're not going to specify how many winning answers are going to be put in the prize draw.
Giving away the winning combination will only lessen your chances at winning.

What about my awkward timezone?
Don't worry, it's not based on first come first serve basis.
The names put in to the draw for the prizes will be completely random and recorded to eliminate any fixes.

What if the same person wins both prizes?
Not going to happen!
You can only enter one OR the other.

How do I take part?
Your first clue can be found at the bottom of this thread. Some clues are riddles, while some offer only subtle hints to an exact post in a thread where the clue is hidden. It's your job to work out which thread is being referred to, and to find the post with the clue in it!

Each clue will start with a number, such as this: (77), take note of this number!
You will need it to complete your winning combination.

You will be notified when you reach the last part of the combination.

When you have completed all of the clues, then simply:
PM ME with your preferred method of contact and your final combination.​

Example:



How are the winners chosen?
When I receive your PM, I will assign you with a number, given your combination is correct and in the right order. I will then create a list on a notepad document assigning you this number. When the competition closes on the 31st of December
I will then go to www.Random.org and film myself choosing a short list of correct answers. The short-listed members will then be re-entered in a smaller www.Random.org number generation. This member will win the prize.
This process will be done for each tier of hunt.

Update: Part-taking in the Veteran Hunt, obtained first 8 clues and officially stuck looking for 9th :'(

maybe add a method to request the answer to one clue where somebody may have been stuck for a while and once that's been used up the member doesn't get another chance to ask for an answer.

I think I somehow found a clue for the Newcomer one while doing the veteran one because it got a lot easier all of a sudden and said I could win 25m when I finished. Guess I'd better go back and find the right one lol.

Edit: Yeah I did. back on track now.

 

You guys have completely failed at what the community dev team was made for. This is just stupid -__-

 

Why is this stupid? I think its a good idea

 

Because comm dev was made to market sythe and help progression, not give away competition winner ranks -_-
