Sythe Rule Reform -- which rules do you want gone?

Advertising (save for ad bots), warez, porn, plagiarism, and pin sales need not be month long bans.

 

Could be a problem with the host which could be the reason it's a months bad (a lot of hosts don't allowed any of the above mentioned, which you probably know )


Also about the black hat activities I was talking about, I'm talking about the programming aspect of it, not telling people to DDOS so and so. DDOSing is not what I'm getting at. A good programmer knows how to stop a person from hacking their program, website, etc. which is why I want to see the discussion of it allowed.

 

The only thing people care about is warez and I don't see why an infraction isn't sufficient.

This thread should be stickied. It's time Sythe starts focusing more on the ideas of its members to retain and increase activity in the community.

One thing I'd like to see changed here is the uptight policy on Spamming.

Another - Scammers from other sites should be welcomed here under tight supervision. They must prove their legitimacy by doing sales with a TWC and prove they've changed. Simply banning them isn't the best way to go about it.

Yeah no, if someone scams on Powerbot and then comes here they are very likely just going to scam again.

 

Allow offsite scammers to roam free? What about the other offsite scammers that were banned? This is a bad idea.

 

@Ow your logic makes zero sense. You're basically wanting scammers to be able to join the site. So person A can go scam X amount of dollars come here and use that money. Then go ahead and scam someone here? That isn't even remotely a good idea and close supervision? We can't even stop the scammers we have now why let known ones in?

 

Why the hell would sythe allow people who scammed previously on other sites be able to come here for "redemption". Would walmart hire someone from target who was fired for stealing? No.

Also, don't try oh that's completely different because its not. Still is something stolen that has cost the company. Only difference, the company gets there money back, someone getting scammed on here doesn't. People ALREADY have problems trusting on this site, why make it even worse for them? And why even waste the moderator's time, it's stupid.

In my opinion, I believe anyone that thinks we should let people who have scammed from different sites come here, have scammed as well without people knowing.

I do however support minor name changes, like Capitalization, for example: If I had midden, and wanted it changed to Midden I think that should be allowed.

 

pardon system should be upgraded: every moderator would have to post their support/no support and a reason.

Been discussed many times. If they do not respond, they are most likely not supporting the pardon. That would just be post farming.

 

That'd be pretty pointless, if a mod is gonna post they will, forcing them to post is just a waste of time and free post count...

And the reason would always be "No support because I don't know you".

 

Allow "anythng goes" in the spam forum. None of this locking threads for stupid reasons, or infractions for excessive flaming, or shit like that.

Avatar sizes should be a universal limit, all users should be allowed the 150x100 size limit.

If you really want a bigger avatar, you can always donate 5$.
5$ isn't that bad.

I'd never support that for a change, because people could have donated for that exact cause.
You'd give them free acces to a very long tenured donation perk..
