Sythe Radio?

Wouldnt it be great to have the mods get together on skype and do some sort of weekly update about sythe improvments, promotions, announcments, ect?

I think its a great idea for the staff of Sythe.org to do some sort of live podcast that we can tune into and have a sort of Q & A about anything sythe related.

I would definitely be happy to host radio stations with all sorts of different genres, a great way to get everyone updated with Sythe, and music

 

Hey newfag Death, we used to have this. idk what happened.

 

The forum I was on before this had something like this. They had a downloadable toolbar with useful links (clicky clicky) and then a radio you could tune into while somebody was 'hosting' it using a software (forgotten its name).

You could put some songs that were requested onto the library, and that included podcasts and it would play through the library and then repeated (and you could also DJ it)

Sadly, it never lifted off as people said they either couldn't be bothered tuning in and it died off quickly. Such a shame.

 

This sounds like a pretty good idea, but the staff would all have to meet up at exactly the same time, to host a podcast. You would never be able to please everyone with this podcast. Of course, you could just tape it and put it in a special 'podcast' section. That way, everyone can enjoy the podcast whenever they want.

 

I like this idea, i like to see this to happen aswell.
But if it's not being hosted, there's no point.
Runezone has it's own radio, where you can request songs, and people DJ.
Sythe member's, like myself, can DJ if they have the equipment at home.
I did some search, and Runezone uses this to stream;http://mixstream.net/.
It would definately be a positive thing for the community, as long as it stays active.

 

I like the idea of it I would tune in and listen would be pretty cool to have for this forums.

 

That sounds pretty neat to hear whats going on from the higher ups. Would be interesting to see how we would tune in like some1 said before there was a toolbar they could use with the radio.

I support. But the real question is who would be willing to do it, or has time to do it. As I can imagine staff are generally pretty busy dealing with their sections, scam reports, and spam reports. As well as various other jobs they have. But if one of the could find time to fit this into their schedules I think this would be great.

 

I really like this suggestion. I can DJ pretty good aswell, so I think this would be a great addition to Sythe.

 

I don't think any mods would be up for it but if the mods wanted to do it then why not.

 

If they want to do this, they should get a SHOUTcast license. DJs can all download Winamp, and they enter the server's IP, password, and other information into it, then they can talk (after they click the 'Talk' button), or play music (after they un-clicked the 'Talk' button).

Good idea though. I've run many radios for Habbo and Runescape fan sites. Although if you get too big, you need to buy a license to legally play any music. It's considered distributing music, and is illegal.

 

I don't think there is enough news or updates to be put into a segment every single week. It would be empty tbh.

 

Megamatt used to run one, not many people got interested in it. You can run your own radio stream if you'd like.
