I think this would be a good idea but I could be wrong

I think everyone is sick of getting scammed threw paypal. It seems like more and more only legit players really pay you threw paypal anymore. I'm not saying abolish paypal but maybe make it so only high ranked players can use it. Maybe make the lower ranked people use player acution or some other payment method this would lower scam rate significantly. Anyways just thought I'd throw this idea out there. Personally I want sythe to be one of the most trusted trading communities not only because I've been using it for so long but this community has been around for so long and it deserves this reputation.

NOTE: I did not get scammed threw paypal.

There is no way this would ever be accepted.
People can, and will pay by the easiest method available, and for most users, this is Paypal. If sellers want to accept paypal, they need to be aware and willing to accept the potential consequences.

EDIT: Also, what is the definition of 'high ranked players'. For example, someone with 20 vouches might consider themselves 'high ranked', while the buyer might only consider someone with 800+ vouches 'high ranked'. There is far too much margin for error with something like this.

Fully wouldn't work, low priced trades would'nt be worth doing through Player Auctions and this would have a big effect on the market on sythe.

No support. Paypal is a highly used way to transfer money. Without it, trades would go down; also, this is a free market. We don't tell the users how to trade.

Since I've joined these forums, I've seen more scammers on this forum then any other trading forum I do business on. I'm not saying that this is a bad forum it has a great amount of traffic specifically for runescape. One thing I can suggest to you guys about accepting paypal payments when you are selling virtual currency. Have the buyer send it as a service, tell them to put in the comment "payment for virtual goods" after they send you the payment you copy the transaction ID put it in the title of a email from your paypal email and send this email to the paypal email they payed you with. Request a State ID or drivers license in the reply of the email as well as the comment you had them put. This has saved me from alot of fraud with paypal chargebacks. Specifically the unauthorized claims.

A better system than the current "vouch" system would be better. "Vouches" are not reliable.

Sorry, but I don't support. I think that they take the risk of using paypal, so thats their choice. Anyone can choose any payment.

+ this would never be able to happen Sythe and PayPal are in no way affiliated with each other, so there would be no way to block or stop lower-ranked players from using PayPal.

If you've got a better idea, I'd like to hear it.

How would people become "trusted" and where do we draw the trusted line at, is it X amount of vouches, or X amount of $$. What if it's $1,000 and some newcomer goes and sells 2 bill, is he now "trusted"?

Also it would be incredibly hard for newcomers to buy / sell items because they would have to use inconvenient methods such as WU or money orders for simple $5 account upgrades and stuff like that.

This is why for most of my transactions I take RSGP then sell the gold to people who I deem trustworthy via paypal who I have no fear of receiving a chargeback. And as people said, its a free market so we can't force people do things a way they don't want to as it will extend the trading process that is unnecessary.

Completely against.. We can't force how people want to pay for their goods. It's up to the person selling/purchasing the items whether they want to accept PayPal or not.

    Negative.
