Universal Voltage? PS3

Okay so I was in vacation in the US, and while over there I bought a PS3 - because they're only about $300 US there, and over here there about $500 US.
Anyway, once I'd purchased it I realized that the voltage wouldn't work over in New Zealand (where I live) because in the US it's 120V or something, and here it's 240V I believe. But I did some research on the internet, and a lot of people said that the PS3 had universal voltage, so I could use it on 240V. But then again, a few people said it'd just fry it.

Could someone please confirm if it is Universal Voltage or not?

Have you checked the specs on the sony website or anything like that? It should be able to tell you what you need to know.

 

I can't find anything official, just people on like WikiAnswers and stuff, asking the same question as me.
