    Hi guys sythe may be creating a new MMO and will be funded by Sythe if there is enough interest so i am wondering if someone will make me a link graphic thing to put in my sig to link everyone to the thread. Please and thank you.

    Why would you want guns in a rpg. I thin guns would pretty much ruin any game if it's not a fps.

    I really like the idea of it being Diablo-like because I used to play that game and became so addicted that even after 4 years of staying Diablo-free I still have the urge to dig up my cd's and install it.

    I have a few tips or ideas or whatever you want to call it for the game(although they might not be good or have been said already, or are just really really obvious):

    -A great plot/storyline, keeps the player playing longer.If you could somehow connect those ideas about having the game be in a medieval, technological?,fantasy type setting in a not to over the top way then that would be interesting to see.

    -Game play, what would be the style of the game play? Shooting,Rpg,and all the other types or a combination of two or more that would kind of like inter-twine with each other creating an immersing one-of-a-kind experience for the player.

    -Graphics, these are important in making the game look unique and catchy. Your game doesn't have to have the best graphics, just look at runescape as long as it has good & addictive game play your set.

    -Sound. Well the person has to have something to listen to while playing the game hours on end don't they? This one isn't as important as the other in my opinion but should at least have some kind of music or sound effects.

    If you want the player to be going through different kinds of environments, there's lots of ways you could make it happen, but the only one I can think of at the moment is some kind of simulation machine thing in the future which causes you to go through medieval times and a fantasy type setting gaining experience and levels along the way until finally you would get out of the simulation and the last place of the game would take setting in the actual world.

    As for any names for the game I wouldn't know what to call it without the name sounding corny.Maybe something to do with cheating in the name, like in a another language though and in the game you would have to be smart and "cheat" to get through certain quests, I don't really know where I'm going with this.

    It's getting late I'll be happy to put my ideas into a flash game but I'm really lazy and doubt I'm going to do it.Thanks.

    Guns in an rpg could still work i used to play RYL (risk your life) and i loved the guns, they weren't overpowered or anything, but as suggested before if you could switch from 3rd person to 1st person, like oblivion then this would be a marvelous addition to the gameplay.

    Well guns can be used, like i said there could be a place in the world where only guns can be used, like a minigame, and in that minigame which is like wildy you automatically enter into a fps view.

    It could be like a few wildy's instead of one, one for guns, one for melee, mage, range etc and one for all. Multi, non multi etc etc

    Why separate the wildy into different classes? This would do away with hybrids, and i never said it would automatically change to a 1st person you should be able to do this yourself, hmmm maybe i should elaborate on this.....

    slingshot? you mean like a sissy crossbow? i laughed at that, but going with what you said, i think we could make it more RPG looking by making them steam powered guns? just throwing that in there

    You never said it would automatically change to 1st person i did...

    And why shouldn't we have wildy in different classes? Its like staking and pking in one, ppl can pk at melee vs melee places, range vs range places, mage vs mage places and guns vs guns places, just like staking, and on top of that also a big place for all 4 combat styles in one pk ownage.

    Edit: And if we go ahead with this gun combat plus all the others melee range etc, it wouldn't be fair to have first person gunners fight with rpg rangers etc.

    Tredix instead of having many different areas for certain classes ithere should just be one big place where people could either go through a portal that leads to the main battlefield or another portal which goes to their character specific classes, also i don't see why it wouldn't be fair for a 1st person r\to fight a 3rd person because they deal about the same damage move at the same speed and if they think they are at a disadvantage they could switch perspectives.

    O this is a fantastic idea. Sythe, i saw your post on the front page and it had a rough sketch of what it would be like. But i suggest you try not to make it look or be realted to RuneScape unless it's going to be everything RuneScape was before December.

    Those are just my suggestions tho, sorry if they sound like demands :p.

    I don't know if anyone has suggested this, but a good idea would be to take the old runescape and code it to make it better... all around, simply put, better.

    That would just be a private server though, the original mmo idea is awesome.
