    Sythe.org Guide to... Everything!

Sythe.org Guide for everything you ever wanted to know.
[The content of this guide applies to most vB websites]

    Introduction:

I often see people having trouble doing certain things, and I figured I might as well make a guide. I hope anyone learns something from this. If so, it was worth writing.

    Let's get started!
    1.Quotes and Multi-Quotes

Quotes are an often used mechanism, to show that you are posting a response directly towards the previous poster.

    Direct Quotes:
Say I want to reply to this post.

I can click the 'Quote' button in the bottom right.

You'll now get to this screen, and you can place your response here.

    Result:

Congratulations, you've just quoted someone. Good job!

    Multi - Quotes:

Now, this is a bit more tricky (though you should be able to do it), and a lot less people know how to do this. It is, however, very useful, and makes sure you don't have to post 2 posts to respond to 2 users. This is not allowed.

On the first message, press the 'Multi - Quote' button, located next to the 'Quote' button.

If done correctly, the little circle on the button will turn red, like this:

That's the first post you wanted to Quote. Now, the other one is pretty easy. Just press the 'Quote' Button again like you just did when Quoting a single person. Click here again.

Good job, now it's just a matter of writing your ever-keen responses.

The final outcome will show your amazing intelligence (or stupidity), and your friends/debaters/buyers have something else to talk about.

Good job man! You just nailed the Multi-Quote!
    [lame]
You can now call yourself 'Master-Quoter'. Bear that title with pride.
    [/lame]

    2. Pictures and Links

This section will be about Pictures and links, and everything else to enhance your posts/threads. So let's get right started!

First, I'll have to teach you some basics.

    • Print Screening
You can print a screen easily. The trick is like this:
-Make sure the section you want to copy is in (approximately) the middle of your screen.
-Click this button on your Keyboard.
      -Open Paint.

Press the buttons [Ctrl] and [V].
You gotta be able to do this without a picture, lol.

Now You save your picture and go to Tinypic.com (My personal favorite, but there are a lot of others, like Photobucket [NOT recommend, most pictures tend to disappear] and ImageShack.com are the most popular ones).

Enter the Captcha and take the bottom link, copy it, and paste it in your signature!
[Picture of TinyPic uploaded with TinyPic. INCEPTIOOON]

Good Job man! You just nailed it again!

However, for googled pictures, or custom made signatures, it's easier!

Just right-click the picture and choose the 2nd option (Sorry, no native English, so my computer isn't either P:).

You can now just stick it in your signature like this.

Press the little picture icon and use [Ctrl] and [V].

What do I hear? The sound of success? Did you do it AGAIN?! There's just 1 thing I can say:

NOTE: You can also use this technique to stick pictures in normal posts.
NOTE #2: Links work the same way, just click the link icon, 3 spots next to the picture icon.

Youtube Links and the mystery around it.

Alright, so youtube links are always a huge mystery, and I'll solve it in this guide as well.

Say you want to show others a fabulous video, like this one.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sFr5Esgv-s&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL

Most people would attempt to stick it, and get this.

It's not really super, is it?

      Now here's the trick!

First, place tags by typing, or pressing the YouTube-tag-button [top right].
Then, take the link, and paste the part That comesafter the watch?v=!

That means that of the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sFr5Esgv-s&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL , you'll only have to paste 1sFr5Esgv-s&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL

      Doing so will result in

      Did you do it?

This concludes the Guide for now. If you want anything added to it, send me a PM and I'll see if it's add-worthy, and add it if that's the case.

PS: Hope you guys enjoyed the 'OMG You're Awesome technique' to make it feel like you're learning quicker than you are. Hope you feel good now. ^_^

Feel free to practice a little on this thread. It can't harm anyone, can it?

Well, good for newcomers, but you should re-size your images, your guide is not transparent. Add some effects to make the pictures look a bit different(darker, lighter, etc.), than the original sythe look.

    Sythe.org Guide to... Everything!

    -This isn't the guide section
-Your pictures match what they're being viewed from, so it's an eyesore!
-Most of this is completely obvious to anyone who belongs on this forum, but I suppose it's alright to post. The guide itself isn't attractive though, and is pretty boring and cluttered. Take a work on it.
