Sythe.org bans -> market only bans

I'm happy it was released to give the members who have been denied on multiple pardons access to use some of the forums atleast.

 

Yes because most of them will just end up evading so it's + - 0. But it should be that they have no access at all to the market section, so they can't even check out what's been posted there.

 

Not everyone who has the DNT rank was banned for scamming, or for breaking any rules.

 

Well it would be too much of hassle to point out the people who scammed and what not, just apply it to everyone. Sorry, just asking but how can you get banned for not breaking any rules? Have a nice day!

 

Well in my case anyway, I was a $1,000 donor, and a retired global mod who employed other people on the staff team back when I owned a site and was involved in the market.

Long story short I got banned for trolling the entire site including the staff for the sake of my own entertainment and the sites entertainment. In the end some of the staff didn't think it was very funny because they don't actually know me or what type of person I am, mainly the newer staff who weren't staff when I was on the staff team or never took the time to get to know me or what type of person I am. If they had taken the time to get to know me they would have known it was all an elaborate troll. Trolling isn't banable according to the rules.

 

Interesting story, feel sorry for you bro and hope you get unbanned anytime soon if that's the case. But to be honest, I don't think there's much people like you who got banned for 'not breaking rules'. Feel?

 

There have been other cases similar to mine. The whole reason for the DNT rank is to prevent users from being able to scam, but there's a major flaw in the system. If someone who in my case has done nothing but help the site by volunteering their time to moderate it, donating $1000 to it, hosted hundreds of dollars worth of giveaways is classified under the same user group as people who are scammers and still owe debts, do you really think that's going to prevent them from scamming or be a productive approach? If anything classifying people who haven't scammed under the same group as people who have scammed and mistreating them only makes them more likely to scam in the end when normally they wouldn't have.

 

@Lean stop starting random drama you made a piss poor decision then kept to push it. I agree it sucks you've been grouped with the ex scammers considering I know your character and you're a good guy but to say you did nothing is a bit of a stretch.

 

I didn't do anything that is banable according to the rules of Sythe.org. If anything by banning me, those responsible are not only breaking the staff code of conduct, but also the rules themselves. There's nothing drama related about my posts, it's me speaking the truth.

 

You said you self vouched. Bannable. We're not going to look into something if you just admit it and check whether or not you were trolling it's a waste of our time. Then while banned you basically threatened to scam or insinuated it. Trolling in disputes threatening to scam is stupid. You made a poor decision but you're a smart guy.

Saying I self vouched is only a two week ban (which I didn't say I self vouched I said I asked a friend to vouch for me for a trade that didn't happen, that's not the same thing), even if I wasn't making it up, which I was, so that's pretty irrelevant. Threatening to scam, even if being serious isn't banable, only TWCabale. Trolling and acting like an idiot isn't banable, so again nothing I did was banable.

 

If you're gonna let these people back, make them pay. If they want the DNT trade, they have to make an effort to pay back debts.. Makes no sense to have them back for the sake of more people online..

 

I see the market and the community as one, if you scam, you lose your sythe privileges. Simple as that

 

100% agree with this. I am not even entirely sure why this was pushed through when way more people voted for this not to happen then people who voted for this to pass through.

I can't support this, sorry. The main focus of Sythe is the market, and if they scam users in that market they deserve their ban. The last thing I would want to see is someone who scammed me for a bunch of money or gold hanging out in Discord or replying to my non-market threads. That's like letting a thief who stole from you hang out in your house.
The ONLY way I could support this is if they were made to repay any debts owed, and they also were forced to wear a "Un-banned" title or "Ex-offender". Something to throw
a flag up to new users.

 

For petty bans this is fine. Would also be a fair punishment for attempted scammers.

I don't agree with this but since its already been pushed through, could you force usertitles to indicate why they have do not trade? Something like "this user has displayed malicious intent and is banned from participation in the market"? Do not trade rank is nice and all but it doesn't explain anything.

Looks like something we can request for account safety.

 

Believe this was pushed for but not sure where Matthew/Big Rich landed on it, and yeah I agree seeing as i've seen a few threads of users asking how they get a DNT rank... One user even suggested making it possible for it to be obtained by non banned users who have no market interest which would literally just group them in with scammers.... and Big Rich said he didn't see why not..
