[DENIED] [Sythe] Logo Redo: Revisited

I dont like it tbh.... looks generic and I think we should keep it how it is now.

 

really like both of them especially the background so ima support this

 

New one critique: The 3D text throws off the logo as a whole, whereas Alt's version is all in unison, and the crown looks a lot better; catches your eye more.

 

Been almost a month, this thread is going no where. Like it always does..

What's the update on this? I've been waiting with a lot of excitement and I know a lot of other users have to.

 

I think the new one is much more sleek and up to date

I like the classic logo but it is getting to be an eyesore

I wonder if someone would be up for trying to create an interactive background design for all the stars, etc. There might be issues with page load times or implementation with XenForo, so I'm not sure. However, I think it'd be a phenomenal upgrade for the site to be more modernized, if you will. Something like this, for example. Instead of having the watery, broken glass look, the stars and solar flares would move around slightly based on the individual's mouse movements.

 

Adding a parallax effect to the background effect could be done in theory but it all depends on how much of an effect it would have on load times and the effort expended to implement it. I think it would be a cool feature to have but it's quite trivial and I think Sythe/Matthew's time could be used on more important issues rather than a feature. It's not really a graphic design job as all we would do it make a bunch of little dots/streaks, most of the rest would be done on their end. If rich or matt says this is doable I'll gladly make something that could be used.

 

Definitely in favor of @MoonGlare's full re-do, not sure why it wasn't implemented when it was first suggested. It looks absolutely fantastic.

 

@Jason is right. To do a parallax effect, all you need is a large image and a few codes really. It does have an effect on load time, but I don't think it would be that bad. We would need to test it, obviously, but I use the parallax background effect on multiple of my websites and it's not too bad. Either way, I don't think this is absolutely necessary.

 

Was working on a few projects of my own. I'm going to start working on it when I'm back from vaca.
