eating after sports?

    A LOT of people says that after sport, you can't eat for 45 mins.
    so why can I eat after running?

    I don't know what you mean or are asking :L. I always eat after sport tbh, normally a banana or something small to gain a bit of energy back.

    I'm not sure whether what you're saying is true or not, but ever since I was a little boy I would always eat after playing a sports game, it was considered 'Snack' brought by the team parents. Especially after exerting yourself physically in a sport, IMO it would be a good idea to eat something light and healthy.. but if you're planning on going to Micky D's right after playing a sport then we might have a problem.

    Losing weight is not a sport. It would make sense not to eat after working out, because then you would be adding to the calories you already burned, making the workout semi meaningless. This doesn't mean you can't eat anything nutritious. Fruits and a sportshake are good for post workouts.

    let's say I usually burn 3000 calories a day.
    with the gym Ill burn an extra 1000 (those numbers are examples)
    so total calories burned a day: 4k
    total input: 2k, 1k before gym, 1k right after.
    would that work?

    you cud eat anything you want try staying away from fatty food and drink like a protein shake mixed with water :p

    Especially if you want to build muscle, it would make no sense. Otherwise, it's a good idea to have a protein shake and that's it.

    There's no benefit to withholding for a magical time after working out, in fact it's likely detrimental. Having some simple sugars and carbs post workout is nice as my friend and I find it will give us some of our energy back so we aren't fatigued for the rest of the day. Meal timing is bull shit too unless you are doing something along the lines of intermittent fasting etc so as long as you are running your surplus/deficit corresponding to your goals the meal timing doesn't matter.

    You can, no one is forcing/threatening you not to eat. What you meant by what other people meant is that "You shouldn't eat right away after exercising" which doesn't hold the same for everyone. Depending on the intensity, volume, and frequency of the exercises, it is important to get enough Calories and nutrients into your body to replace the ones you've lost/used up - depending on your health goal that is.

    If it was a demanding sport/exercise you'd done I'd recommend something high in protein as it aids muscle repair. Chicken is an obvious and easy one with some broccoli. Or just a protein shake :)
