Sythe gold being underutilized

The release of Sythe gold has been very underwhelming to say the least. This update was suppose to branch activity through various means. It's been 7 months since the initial release and not a single proposal in regards to features has been approved/made (perhaps priority was downgraded after bugs appeared?).

The potential this update had was enormous. A vendor/wheel of fortune could've been implemented for it's use, to heavily decrease the current amount being distributed, alongside giving users something to work on/look forward to by posting.

 

There Isn't a need for a daft wheel.

A use for sg, i.e buy a mini with 5k sg or buy a Pokemon mini with 10k (considering seems only way to get Pokemon minis is through CDT events).

There's supposed to be loads of money sinks when @Matthew gets round to creating them, obviously other things are apparently a priority. Money sinks include; Like the amount that should be spent on an early bump. The rsps (whenever that gets made) is supposed to utilise Sg as well.

 

The wheel is an example of a rapid gold sink, one which in turn would significantly increase the value of sythe gold, which then would result in an influx of new posts, preferably outside of the market.

Keyword here is "supposed". Was there any mention of these proposals subsequent to that thread I linked being closed? If we're going off the latest post, it's been approximately 4 months, nearing 5 since any notable mention of what is left or rather what is to become of sythe gold.

 

Inadvertently, this was suppose to have a big impact on DNT. I recall @Sythe saying "by giving DNT users an incentive to want to become a regular user, it would inflate their will to want to pay off their debts, in return giving them full access to benefits they were missing.". Currently there is little incentive. DNT users are habitually accustomed to being on Sythe as is, and that shouldn't be a thing.

- Make sythe gold multi purpose
- Allow DNT users to obtain sythe gold, but also restrict use

It's a pretty straightforward approach. Priority should be increased.

 

Mock-ideas of both a vendor and a wheel of fortune.

A vendor would be pro-choice, meaning you choose what you want to buy, all that is required is you have enough sythe gold to buy what is desired. Like an actual vending machine.

A wheel of fortune would be random, essentially a way of gambling with your sythe gold, which would be the fastest sink for it.

You can currently gamble with your sythe gold, you can also buy various things off users with sythe gold, but the gold is not dissipating, it's simply being distributed from user to user, increasing the amount, but also decreasing the value. It's typical inflation which should've been limited with the design of sythe gold.

Note: These ideas are just that, ideas. Not expecting either or to be made, just brainstorming.

 

There is supposed to be a huge use of Sythe gold via the Sythe RSPS that is being released.
If gives healthy advantages within the RSPS that would make the gold more valuable throughout the community, but that being said, we also need help getting the server tested and up for the major use of S.G.
you can message @Artur or @Syfiends to help expedite the server, and use of S.G.

 

shut the hell up, only because you can afford 5k or 10k sg? the rest of us don't have that sort of sg lying round smh

Well the amount can obviously be changed, calm your self.

The only way sg is coming in is through CDT events and posting which to me doesn't seem like a lot.

 

This has the same feeling as riot giving free skins to people. Stop fucking complaining. You think staff should right now just fix the problems with SYTHE GOLD rather than doing anything else?? The gold is fine as it is, in my opinion it should not be paid at all, if you wanna pay just buy the miniranks for money already.

 

That's good that more uses are being thought of and hopefully soon to be created, however, not everyone plays runescape, and not everyone who plays runescape will play this server. We need to maximize the use of sythe gold through conventional means.

There was a 7 month window from release to now for a use to be created. I'd agree with you if it was just released recently, however that is not the case. The gold isn't fine as it is.

We also have a technical core team. The burden shouldn't just be on Matthew alone to create uses.

Sythe is where ideas come to die. Personally I believe the RSPS, Sythe gold, DNT, ETC should all be scrapped since nothing will ever happen with any of it.

 

I think the only people that can really answer this question is Sythe and Matthew.

 

why not just implement a sythe gold gambling interface where we can dice sythe gold vs miniranks/a sythe gold funrank or somethin

Agreed. I thought that SG was a spin off of your "Points" idea mixed with Blupig's to encourage posting in sections that aren't frequented often (which unfortunately has turned into most sections besides the SF and market). All I've heard about SG is "wait for the RSPS to come out" before we get any real uses out of it, but at this rate I'm not too sure when we'll see a finished product.

I remember even seeing a bypass bump button that could be used with SG, which would help encourage market users to come into the community. It's a great idea for making the forums a bit more lively, but I haven't seen anything about this in months.

 

I completely agree as well. Sythe gold and poke-prizeboxes were such a neat idea I was excited for. However, it seems that not much has been done with it. I understand that Sythe gold will be implemented along side the Sythe RSPS, but I also think that there are other ways to use them like spending them on prizeboxes and different perks.
