What is Sythe.Org?

Sythe.Org is a RuneScape cheating forum owned and created on April 22nd 2005, by Sythe himself, after the fall of RuneCMS. Though Sythe.Org's main user region is its black market, which is used by hundreds of users a day, Sythe also is home to several different types of programming forums, a general discussion forum, an intelligent debate forum, and a community general forum. The major percentage of users play RuneScape and will generally stay around the market forums, though while browsing Sythe you will find that many of the users who regularly post in Community General and the Off Topic sections once played RuneScape but have since stopped.

What are ranks, how do they change and how can I get one?

The ranks are the words, and sometimes images below ones name. Generally the words directly below your name will change depending how many posts you have (if you hate having the "Leecher" rank, keep posting, and it will turn into a "Member" one in no time), but many people also have small images like "User Educator" or "Cracker Head" These ranks are given by the admins to particular users either for an indication of a certain position on Sythe or for fun. If you want a rank, do not ask for it, if you deserve one, it will be given to you. I'm tired of my name on Sythe, can I get it changed?

No, unfortunately you can't. If we were to give anyone a name change who wanted one then the admins would have to be changing names all the time, not to mention the fact people would get confused if others changed their name. So no name changes, pick wisely when you sign up.


Who runs and controls Sythe.Org?

Sythe is controlled by a hard working team, consisting of section moderators, global moderators and administrators. A user who is one of these will have a rank which will tell you what type of mod or admin they are.


Who moderates where?

A section moderator will moderate whatever section he or she is assigned to, for example a Runescape Moderator will moderate all threads and posts in the Runescape forums. Global moderators have the power to moderate every forum and admins can moderate every forum, as well as having complete control of all forums through the admin panel. All moderators and admins can give any user an infraction (except those of an equal or higher power than them) an infraction in any forum.


What are infractions and what do they do?

Infractions are punishments given out by moderators to people who break the Sythe.Org rules when posting, usually they are received for things like double posting, flaming, oversized signatures and advertising. An infraction can only be seen by whoever has the infraction and other moderators and admins. If you get five infractions you will be banned temporarily for fourteen days, if you accumulate seven infractions you will be banned temporarily for one month. Luckily infractions will usually go away after the time period of one month. (Though the period of time can be set to different lengths by admins). Users can also be banned immediately for breaking the most serious rules. What's the difference between a warning an an infraction?

A warning is simply a "heads up" to prevent re offending given by a mod or admin, whereas an infraction is a fraction of a ban.. Three infraction points and you get a ban. Read the rules for further information.

What's a yellow or red card?

If you go to your User CP and click "My Profile" you'll see a little box called Infractions which shows you a yellow or red card, this is assuming you have received a warning or infraction from a moderator.
The yellow card simply means it's a warning and no infraction points have been given. A red card means you have been given 1-2 infraction points depending on the rule broken. If you wish to see a total of your infraction points just look in the top right corner of the infraction section.



What is an MM?

"MM" stands for "Middle Man" and is the term given to someone who is, in affect, in the "middle" of a trade, so that neither person can be scammed (to an extent). In most trades, a middle man will take the items which are being traded from both sides, inspect them both and hand them to the appropriate people. On Sythe you can find official MMs and unofficial MMs. An official MM is someone who has completed their MM application and has been selected as a trusted member of Sythe and is recommended to be used as an MM so that people wont get scammed. An unofficial MM has not completed an MM application and is either looking to become official or just to help the community. Caution should be exercised when using these MMs as their ability to be trusted is questionable.
