Syrian "civil war" conflict; do you support Assad?

E: to further preface this and everyone's replies; refrain from derailing and going off-topic, such as theology/ideologies that are driving conflict, that's not what this thread is about. If you can't understand that, don't post. Thanks.

    /sg/ Syria General

Looking at this section i'm surprised this topic has never been given any serious attention. The above link is essentially the info-dump for all of /pol/'s /sg/ (Syria General) threads, for all things related to the Syrian conflict, your best go-to tool is the site above. Now, with that out of the way we can get to the topic at hand.

Do you support Assad? Yes or no, and why.
Do you believe the MSM narrative that has been pushed for years? That being the Assad government gasses its own people, and that the "rebels" came to be of what would essentially be an oppressive government subjugating its own people. Do you believe this to be the reality?

Personally, I side 100% with Assad and after having followed the /sg/ threads for so damn long, it isn't possible to support the "rebels."

I'll post and cite more specifically if people ask questions, but to summarize my reasoning, it goes like this...

The "rebels" fighting against the Assad government are all allied with daesh/al-qaeda and the litany of other terror groups that span across the Middle East, there's basically no difference among these groups that are fighting against Assad. There are no "moderates" fighting against Assad.

As for the most contentious topics, such as gas attacks and "genocide," after actually looking at the presented evidence, nothing can be directed at Assad or actions taken by the SAA. As you'll read in the above site that covers this, the Sarin samples (or others) taken and tested were never matched with the Syrian government's stock. Not to mention, several years prior to this Syria had given up their chemical weapons. Even if this weren't true, it would be easy to identify the originator of the weapons. A/67/997 - E (one source)

To continue along this line of reasoning, we already have evidence that the terror groups fighting against Assad have the the means of manufacturing or are attempting to manufacture biological/chemical weapons.

Found: The Islamic State’s Terror Laptop of Doom

This is akin to the videos that they uploaded teaching people how to make explosives.

(screenshot for reference video I downloaded before being taken down)

The point i'm making is that the chemical weapons being used (or in some instances faked) are not Assad's. Even if it came to be that the chemical weapons being utilized were from his government's stock, I still would find it hard to support the logic that is Assad would be gassing his own people in a war that he has been winning. As for why I say 'faked,' it's because the terror groups in Syria use the same tactics as Hamas and other groups use against Israel. Namely, crisis actors. It's already been exposed that they've used the same crisis actors in multiple photo shoots, or that the way situations have been handled should have lead to different conclusions. ie: handling bodies purportedly killed by Sarin gas with bare hands, zero real protective covering, and not dying themselves.

    Again, it's simple logic anyways.

An interesting interview for those interested.

I'll stop here to allow for questions and such and then carry on from there, but to conclude, i'm not of the opinion that we should be meddling in Syria, nor should we be supporting terrorists who masquerade as humanitarian groups (White Helmets) or as "rebels" fighting against an "oppressive regime." The reality is Syria is just like any other decent Arab state that isn't actively at war with its neighboring nations.

Don't generalize my post to say something I haven't. The only thing I've said is that reports of Assad supposedly gassing his own people in a war he's been winning is false, and all real evidences point to al-nusra front/al-qaeda and daesh.

Also, please don't post claiming it's just "propaganda" if you haven't gone through all the links with some level of effort to understand what's going on. Everything stated isn't "propaganda."

Listen Pal don't make me out to be someone that hammers "alternate media" or sits glued to Russia today . I get my facts from the Royal institute of international affairs , the council on foreign relations & the United nations .

Edit added: Tl;dr - Western powers wanted control of Syria because it is a very strategic place for the one world agenda , however it has not been as easy as they thought it might be . This war boils down to Saudi Arabia & the west vs Syria & Iran . Hence my point in my first post , this is a religious war that has been going on for centuries between the Sunnies & the Shia. And unfortunately Assad is the scapegoat for the greedy bureaucrats we pay our tax to.

Because the UN is the perfect model of unbiased output lol

Your post doesn't really add anything to the conversation either. The topic isn't about the religious ideology behind each group or who's funding which proxy.

Read the OP again and construct your replies to suit the theme of the thread or I'll just report you for derailment.

Rebel groups fighting against Assad doesn't equivocate to allied with IS; if this were the case, you would not see the shit storm of relations that is Syria with groups all fighting one another and finding any reputable source that concurs with that is unlikely. All is a massive generalization and an oversimplification of the conflicts in Syria.

Chemical weapons have been delivered via air strikes and the only groups with air capability = Syria/Iran/US/Russia. Rebel groups and IS cannot do an air-based chemical weapons strike as they lack the capability to do so. Development doesn't not equivocate to the ability to use and weapons are nearly useless without a delivery system I.e. Having a nuclear bomb, but being unable to mount it on a missle.

No I don't buy a simplistic mainstream narrative, but buying into forum posts and youtubers is equally - if not more - idiotic.

Could not rebel groups use Syria/Iran/US/Russia to deliver?

Maybe; but hey at least it's democratic.

Aircraft are easy to track - specifically when they're over a warzone being monitored by the US who spends more on their military then the next 8 countries combined and who just further added another 30 billion to their budget.

The rebel groups are fighting both Syria and Russia so I'm not sure why either of them would assist and the U.S. would have to launch a false flag operation that if caught would completely undermine any credibility and isn't needed as a justification to get involved in Syria any further.

A self-serving bias in which a bunch of like-minded people search posts/threads that confirm what they think while downvoting ones they don't, is fact checked loosely, conspiracy theories that are ran by a bunch of 4chan investigations reign, and nothing remains to hold any individual accountable due to free speech and it's overall equivalence to a blog post.

Arguing "democracy" does not make it a good argument. It's not uncommon to vote against their best interest or to simply be swayed by their own self bias.

Literally nowhere did I allude to it being peaches and cream between rebel groups. Hundreds/thousands of terror group members will defect to other groups many times over. They're still "allied" against the same enemy. FSA recruits will often join al-nusra and so on.

The only people claiming chemical weapons strikes are carried out by aircraft are the terror groups. Other than that, the only evidence are tiny potholes.

Also, most media outlets get their source material from "rebeel" groups, so your sources are no better than "buying into forum posts."

Assad has killed thousands of his own people , the Syrian army hijacks aid for civillians and uses extortion & ridiculously High prices . However , I do not believe he has gassed his own people . It is the only thing that brings him closer to the inevitable . A.K.A Airstrikes & boots on the ground from the west .

Do not try and be little my post little man , until you answer my question . Have you been to Syria ? Have you seen it with your own eyes ?

Civilian casualties that are part of war, there is no moral high ground, stop positioning yourself as such. You're seemingly taking the position that Assad is purposefully killing his own people for no good reason.

I haven't been to Syria, but what you're proposing as your defense is a logical fallacy. I don't have to be there to have a good understanding of what's going on, that argument would render your own defeated as well if you went down that line of reasoning. You can find an innumerable amount social media outlets by individuals that show daily life in Syria in its urban environment.

Lastly, villages that are liberated from the rebels are already seeing their residents returning for the simple reason that the Syrian government isn't committing the crimes you'd like to propagate.

But I'm sure you've been there supposedly right? I'd love to hear about it

Oh, and if you're going to continue crying I'll just report you again. Thanks.

E: before I forget, with regards to civilian casualties. Do you know which source the media uses and governments use? Hint: It's not their own data, and it's not the Syrian government. It starts with "T" And ends with "errorists."
