    Whats a good major?

i'm not looking forward for any majors in medical, engineering because medical takes too many years and i'll be in debt forever and plus its hard to find jobs nowadays. no engineering because I think you need to be creative like steve jobs to become one.

I'm looking at either accounting/business or somewhere in computer field.

Maybe, I can skip college and just obtain my certificates from Microsoft?

Honestly, all I am doing is sitting home and playing league of legends and with a PT job.. I thought about suicide but i'll re consider but who knows, i'm a bit jealous that i'm two years in college because I should be a sophomore in college by now. I am turning 20 in 4 months and 5 days and the only thing i'm really good at is computers..... I have about 20-25k dollars saved up from working hard and taking the bus/bike to school.

Biology. It opens up so many more doors than any other degree, and if you ever do decide to go to med school it is one of the majors to have. The thing is, you can do the computer stuff and the art stuff outside of college without paying so much money for it. If you're going to go to college, get a solid degree that will guarantee you a job.

Pick a subject which you actually like doing. If you choose something only for money, and then end up doing a career which you hate, you will be depressed.

Pick something you want to do or that you actually like to do, No reason to spend money on schooling for something that you dont like.

Computer science is, in my opinion, the most versatile degree you can obtain right below a mathematics major. There will always be demand for computer majors in all sorts of fields. You should also consider supplementing CS with a double major in some highly popular language. Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, etc.

For one thing, in engineering, you do not need to be creative. The creative ones are the ones that become successful. The others just become intelligent slaves for larger firms once they graduate.

I was a computer engineering major, but if I could go back and change, I would become an actuary. Actuarial science is a very interesting topic that deals with my favorite topic in math - statistics. It also includes topics about business, such as microeconomics and macroeconomics. In essence, an actuary deals with analyzing statistical information and making predictions on, for example, insurance risks. The whole field of actuarial sciences deals with the future - you're going to be using statistics to predict about the future (normally in a business context).

Furthermore, the average salary is very high - even more than an engineer. However, you must understand that achieving high salaries as an actuary requires for you to be at a high rank. Achieving that high rank is no walk in the park - whilst there aren't many actuaries, the competition is still high.

This should give you an idea of the amount of money you can make: http://www.actuaries.org.uk/becoming-actuary/pages/what-can-actuary-earn

Not just calculus, you need calc II and stats & logic. I just finished my calc II requirement, it was a really easy class. You shouldn't let math scare you away. It's literally the common foundation to most of the world's most successful careers.

Real shit, im from the UK and doing a-levels in Maths/Further maths/Econ/Chem (just incase i decide to do chemical engineering). As of recent i've been heavily interested in maths and economics (pure maths in general, not statistics but trying to improve). But looking into the prospect of being an actuary, very interested however its extremely competitive. Not gonna put me off from pursuing a career in acturial science.

    Whats a good major?

I'm contemplating commercial real estate and management/business administration.

Math isn't too hard, pretty fun if you like the business and corporate aspect. Very versatile major. Although, over abundance of biz majors. Many biz companies hire english and history majors because they bring a different aspect to the company instead of the generic biz major. Plus, have superb grammar skills in sending emails/reports is a big turn on since you're representing the company in communication which is the biggest part of business.

I am currently working towards my nursing degree (BSN). It takes ~4-5 years. 2 years of gen ed's, and then 5 semesters of nursing courses which you take once you are accepted into the program. Its hard, and the workload is quite a bit but its a awesome major if your good with interacting with people. My grading scale sucks (<77 is failing), but not sure how your school would be.

Everyone and their mother has an MBA. If you are good at keeping shit organized and fairly intelligent you could be paralegal. You can get hooked up with a corporation and be an in-house and get paid 70k - 90k/year and benefits.
