Joined the Air Force and it was the best decision of my life.

 

Like hell it is, I live in the sticks with very few neighbors. Thats how I fucking like it. Privacy. Granted maybe "true" privacy is sorta redundant with social media ect but personal space is still en vogue with a lot of us.

 

Do you use the internet? So everyone knows where you live.
Did you ever look at some items online? Everyone knows what you like.
It goes a lot deeper then that but unless you are living like George of the jungle. You don't have any privacy.

Benefits, purpose, job security, high tier training, career opportunities after discharging, connections with the country's most influential personnel

 

Honestly I might just join the army to work out and never deploy, but also getting paid at the same time basically I want to go in the reserves.

 

Did you not read my fucking post. Ive got plenty of privacy (the kind im concerned with) my lot of land is posted and I will shoot your ass should you cross that line. I can drink beer, fart, sneeze, curse ect where I damn well please. You CANT do that in the military. That was my fucking point. I acknowledged that "privacy" is a fine line with todays technology but emphasized PERSONAL space and the sense of PRIVACY it entails. Dumbass.

OT to those considering the service. I suggest the air force and navy. They have higher standards of living than most and offer far more jobs that translate to the civilian sector. Just my .02

 

Vets have super high unemployment rates.

 

Historical war vets, who had little in regards to treatment and therapy in their time, who had exponentially more traumatizing experiences than the average soldier today. All of which owes to their mental instability and inability to hold a job

 

I read your post but what makes you think you have more privacy then me? I can do all those things as well except drugs but any respectable business has random drug texts.

 

Jesus fuck you are a thick one. I didn't once say I had more privacy than you. All I said and the ONLY point I was making was that you canNOT do this shit in the military, afterall that is what this thread is about.

You are an idiot if you beleive this. I've worked a good number of different jobs and only been tested once at any of them and that was preliminary mandatory BS or for a badge for when I have to work in schools or government buidlings.

Right now I'm working for Balfour Beatty a business with hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue that does work all over the WORLD. Havent been drug tested, must not be a respectable business!!

Fact is you escape random drug tests when you make it out of part time minimum wage job type bullshit. This holds true in most any case unless you work with the government or children ect.

 

But I feel like that happens today too and that employers are hesitant to hire vets for that reason.

 

The detachment was real with us as far as our stability in and after military life, but nothing they said suggested that we will have any more trouble finding jobs than the average American, maybe only more so because we'd be overqualified for a lot of the smaller jobs. But it doesn't seem like it's a major issue anymore. I've not seen any studies or consistent news reports that say so, anyway

Intelligence will get you nowhere. I have a problem accepting authority delegated over me for no reason, and it's horrid. I mean the money, school money and other benefits are awesome but it still sucks a dick.

I'm smart enough though to get out of quite a bit of bullshit, it just sucks having to listen to old fucks and stupid fucks all day.

Join the Air Force, much better option.
