Best and safest way to buy Bitcoins?

Hey guys, rather new to the Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency trade and it seems like that is the main currency being exchanged here on Sythe.org.

What's the best and safest way to buy some Bitcoins without being ripped off completely? Ive looked into localbitcoins but the prices are kind of steep for what it's really worth. What do you guys base the price off of? Generally of course.

 

GDAX is a good option for FIAT > Crypto. However, given the massive fees of BTC at the minute I'd recommend you get into something else, particularly looking at ETH/XRP.

 

Thanks for the response Nate, do people take ETH/XRP as currency when purchasing stuff like 07 gold etc? I'm kind of new. Does it break down like the decimal count for BTC when sending to others, basically.

 

No worries! Yep, at this point most people are open to accepting a variety of currencies as they can easily be exchanged for each other. There will be decimals depending on the value of the trade, e.g. If you're buying $100 worth of gold it could be .001 of a high value coin (like bitcoin) whereas it might be 3000 of another, cheaper altcoin.

 

Probably coinbase if you are buying using fiat.
