Getting somone banned for scamming.

Alright, now reading the title your probably thinking, this is common sense why are you posting this..

The thing is, I have seen a lot of people posting in the scam section saying OMG I GOT SCAMMED BAN HIM BAN HIM!?!?!?

1) Alright, lets start off by getting a video tool. I believe that a video is the best way to get somone banned for scamming, as they show all of what happens, assuming you dont edit some vital stuff out. Make sure you video the whole trade, and have the other person state the trade in the MSN, also make sure you get there email in the video, and them saying there email on sythe.

Now, to video your trades you will need a program, I recomend this one -
http://www.hyperionics.com/ - Hypercam, a very commonly used video tool.

2) A lot of times you can get the person to confess to scamming, or trap them in there lies, Ex. One time a guy said he would train my account for him, well I log in the account its in the party room nothing on it, I cant prove he did this, but what I can do is message him on msn and say, so how is the the training going on Iced(Accounts Name)? If he answers good, say something like, what are your training now? Etc. Make sure the whole time you are videoing and showing that you are on the account, also make sure you state the accounts name in the msn, as you could be logged onto any random account.

3) Screenshots, even though you are videoing, screenshots can help imensly in the speed the person is banned. A lot of time the screenshots alone will be enough proof, but remember, just incase always video your trades. If you do not know how to take and upload a screenshot, I have personally seen a few guides on it so just look around, if you are still having trouble pm me.

4) Now, generally a scammer will have fake vouches, or multiple accounts, make sure to check his vouches, and perhaps google his msn, numerous times I have found out that somone who scammed me had another account by googling his msn, then you just get both accounts banned. Also make sure to follow the links on each of there vouches.

5) Be persistent, if you really did get scammed, and have enough proof, they will get banned eventually, even if you have to keep reposting your evidence. I have infact had one mod tell me I didnt have enough evidence, when I did(Scammer3 in my sig) I sent him an angry pm, and reposted the evidence, then a diferent mod banned the kid.

Good Luck, hopefully you will never get scammed, but lets be realistic.

Out of about the first 8 post in the report a scammer section, they were all people without enough proog, so Tezlin, aparently its not as common of sense as you say.

Indeed. Common sense. Hyper-cam generally doesn't have super quality regarding close-up text.

Also, always, always ALWAYS ask for a Pm.

There is a lot of people who dont realize what kind of proof they need, and I believe this guide will be very helpful to them, as it is not as commonly known as you say, just go check the report a scammer section for yourself.

Good guide but there are stickies in the Report A Scammer section already. Plus, with video recording, upload it on youtube as the majority of mods/admins probably don't want to download a large file or just take a screen shot of where the scammer admits or scams you. Either way Hypercam is really bad quality.

You can also copy their msn, aim, whatever and go into members list and click on Search> Advanced search.

There are stickys that say what can and cant be used as evidence, yet people seem not to understand what they mean because they still post without any or little evidence.

Although I have had 2 people admit there scammers, just taking a picture of one section of the conversation may not be considered enough evidence, I believe Scammer3 I was told it was not enough evidence when the guy said he had been scamming for years(Had video evidence but I guess the mod didnt feel he should take the time to watch it), I reposted and complained a little and he got banned though.

 

Basic guide, already known, plus - If you don't know HOW or WHAT to take an picture of when dealing with an scammer - then you're dumb.

A good guide on common sense. Add information on what you should aim to capture, and what not (chat logs). Add some pictures, and it's all right. Despite the fact it's borderline on a RuneScape guide.

 

this is good but most ppl just vid watever trade is going on and then use it as there proof
